Thank you to everyone who left such kind FB, IG, Twitter, email and website comments on yesterday’s Irving Berlin’s White Christmas Themed Home Tour. It appears that the 1954 classic film is a favorite of yours as well. Today I am sharing The White Christmas Holiday Kitchen.
The White Christmas Holiday Kitchen
The kitchen at the Columbia Inn in beautiful Pine Tree, Vermont is briefly shown during the cast party scene. In all honesty, the stack of dishes and empty bottles is truly what my Christmas kitchen often looks like.
Let’s also take a moment to admire Betty’s green velvet dress. Someday…
I pondered on how I could incorporate the film into my holiday kitchen decor. One of my favorite numbers, Sisters, inspired me.
Ok, these dresses are just beyond! I may also want the matching gloves and feathered fan.
For the table decor, I used the vintage-inspired felt runner I made a few years ago.
I still love the interactive element.
Perhaps you can see why I chose a dachshund theme.
The bright aqua pairs well with white, silver and pink.
Jolly and cheerful!
I found the glorious poinsettia at Trader Joe’s. Wrap the plastic foil container quickly with a doily for fun flair.
If you place kitchen decor on trays make it easy to move if more counter space is needed.
The hot cocoa cabinet was shared a few weeks ago.
It remains a family favorite.
A glimpse of the brick hearth.
I replaced a few vintage Shiny Brites where copper usually hangs.
Simple greenery and ribbon are festive, easy to add elements.
Let the baking begin!
What’s On The Menu
Buttermilk and liverwurst of course!
Gracie would like to taste test.
Lastly, the kitchen shelf holds vintage aprons, mercury bead garland and the Putz houses created a few years ago.
For those of you who enjoy seeing a real time layout of the kitchen here is the latest video.
May your days be merry and bright!

Your house looks beautiful! I have enjoyed seeing every space that you have featured on your blog and on Instagram. My favorite thing is the runner that you made featuring the dachshunds.

I’ll pass my buttermilk and liverwurst to Rudy! But the rest of it I will and do love with all my heart! Love the theme and the aqua is one of my favorite colors. That tree is just darling! And I remember the runner and tree skirt from before. Isn’t it fun when you can reuse in a different way? It’s just perfection, Laura!

I didn’t realize it but I sort of did MY white tree in the White Christmas color scheme of your table / tree with lots of teals and brights. Just watched this again with my Aunt , who was visiting Sunday night – we had a sad occasion, the internment of my mother who passed 11/7/2019 at Andersonville National Cemetery on Monday and my aunt stayed with me overnight to travel up to cemetery with me; I wanted something lovely and nice to watch and she also loves this movie as much as me! My Mom was my aunt’s oldest sister and was like a ‘little mom’ to my aunt because Mom was 12 yrs older and they were very close too. Anyways… I love your White Christmas decor !!! I do vintage / retro mixed in with a slight boho look and choose items from the early 40s / 50s / 60s, trying to reproduce what I remember of my mother and grandmothers homes when I was a little girl (I was born 1957). Merry Christmas !!!!

Just beautiful! Your White Christmas series is terrific, I’ve loved every post. It’s been a great preview too – because believe or not I’ve never seen the movie! We’re watching a Christmas movie as a family every night between now and Christmas Eve, and I’ve borrowed my in-laws copy of White Christmas. I’ll be thinking of you for sure. Thanks for the inspiration. XOXO Rachael

This is fabulous, love it! Of course, you had me at the table runner. Dachshunds rule!!
The shiny and brutes added around the kitchen are so pretty. Loved the ice bucket.
