Hello sweet friends! Earlier this week temperatures plummeted for the first time this season here in Texas. So I bring you Saturday Smiles A Deep Freeze. I’ve been sticking close to home and keeping cozy. How about you?
Saturday Smiles A Deep Freeze
I adore this pretty fall table. The use of a blanket as a tablecloth ups the cozy factor.

This restored Antebellum home has a soft color palette guaranteed to warm your heart.
Heartwarming
In France elder care often accompanies mail delivery. The low-cost program called Veiller Sur Mes Parents (“Watch Over My Parents”) has postal workers inquire if the senior is well and if they require assistance with groceries, home repairs, outings, or other needs. I’d love to see America offer something similar.
What To Read
My lovely friend Leslie Sinclair has written her fourth book, Segreto Impressions. I have collected all of Leslie’s books as they are so visually stunning and provide so much design inspiration. Even the jacket cover on the new book is a work of art. The ceiling shown is made from hand-formed plaster florals that were hand-applied to the ceiling! Leslie brings a true old-world mastery to all her creations.
One of my favorite projects in the book is a home she worked on with designer James Mol. They used SegretoStone, an all-natural lime-based material to formulate the sinks and counters. Although the kitchen is large it still retains a warm and cozy factor. The organic quality of the finish helps to create a modern yet traditional feel.
In the master bedroom, an amazing architectural piece found at Marburger is used as a headboard. It showcases the beautiful luster of the hand-applied plaster walls.
Every page of Leslie’s book is indeed eye candy!
A Lasting Smile
This Twitter thread is a smile inducer. It starts off “Three years ago my husband’s grandmother moved in with us and on her first night, she put a dress on the dish soap. My life hasn’t been the same since.” The follow on comments and photos are hilarious.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The dress on the dish soap made me grin. I remember my mother making these for her friends. The one on her bottle was a cheerful blue and yellow calico. Thank you for bring me back to that special time.
