Hello, sweet friends, I arrived back home in Texas late Thursday night. Friday was spent restocking the fridge and pantry as well as washing a mountain of laundry. My clothing went directly back into the suitcase as I am leaving for Tennessee on Monday. I am thankful that this will be the last trip of the summer. I am beyond tired and have truly missed my home and family. I thought some good travel-themed posts would be perfect for Saturday Smiles On The Road.
Saturday Smiles On The Road
While in Tennessee my daughter has a special day planned for me this Tuesday. We will be shopping in Franklin and enjoying a celebratory birthday dinner at Mere Bulles. I can’t wait!
A Favorite Feed
I follow several travel-themed Instagram feeds. It is a simple way for happy escapism. There is one feed that consistently makes me “wish I was there”. If you enjoy dogs, design, regional fare and all things classic Americana then you will love @jackiegreaney
Splish Splash I Was Taking A Bath
Did you know that more and more hotels are getting rid of miniature versions of shampoo, conditioner, and other toiletries? They now offer products in bulk-size dispensers in an effort to reduce plastic waste. I have witnessed this first hand at three different hotel chains that I have recently stayed in. This is good news for mother earth.
The transition has been a bit upsetting for some hotels guests. It really doesn’t affect me one way or another. Since I have sensitive skin I’ve packed my own products for years.
What To Watch
On the plane from Atlanta to Dallas, I watched a movie recommended to me. The Biggest Little Farm follows Molly, Chester and their dog, Todd, on a journey to bring harmony and beauty to both their lives and 200 acres of land. This heartfelt film draws you in as they encounter back and soul breaking work, brutal drought, and various predators (spoiler alert SNAILS!). But it is ultimately uplifting as you witness the small utopia they create which includes such gems as a pig named Emma and her best friend, Greasy the rooster.
I’ll see you next week. Until then…
I’ll be posting once a day on Instagram.

I seem to remember that the house in the first picture was used in a movie with Jimmy Stewart that had Brigitte Bardot in the title or plot…asking Dr. Google….Dear Brigitte….marked Billy Mumy’s film debut. Anyone else remember this?
Hope you have a more restful fall, but I bet you will be on to some more tiring projects, especially with SG in his Sr. year. Am I right?
