Mr. Decor and I recently went on vacation to the upper east coast. Our trip took us through Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York. We went to see the Montauk Point Lighthouse. We truly loved the very end of Long Island. This darling cottage has lovely nautical touches.
Saturday Smiles Summer Holiday
We stayed in charming Sag Harbor while visiting the surrounding areas. I fell in love with its history and charming architecture. Glover House, located on Main Street, was built in 1810. It is currently for sale and features a patriotic color palette.
What To Wear
I adore the charming oversized rick rack on this red buffalo checked sundress. It’s beyond my price point so I may create something similar on my sewing machine.

Every day is the fourth of July on the oldest street in America. Some of the homes on Elfreth’s Alley in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania were built in 1720.

I think the Captain and I are going to make a short trip to a hotel right on the beach and watch the fireworks from there.
We vary it up…one year we watched by boat, another from our front yard and yet another from the water’s edge…there is always so many displays. Since our little Jesse James (our pom) is so frightened of the noise…i will give him a relaxer and hold him as we watch from a high rise window. Have a great 4th of July.

In Canada we will be celebrating Canada Day on Monday July 1st. Its usually pretty low key but we will have out of town company for overnight so who knows!
