The Best of 2015

Hello dear friends! A very happy Monday to you. This post is a roundup of The Best of 2015.
The Best of 2015

The Best of 2015

Are you enjoying the fourth day of Christmas? I so enjoy celebrating a traditional (and leisurely) holiday season that culminates with the twelfth day of Christmas on January 6th. There is so much more time to enjoy the good things.
I have been cooking up a storm and continuing to try and watch all of the new holiday-themed movies.
Lest you think I am now part sloth I have also been busy creating. The past few days I made coats for all the well-loved canine members of our family.
Here is Franz modeling his coat which features the Gunn tartan. Franz in coatThe Fashionista and Rudi wearing their holiday best.

Lantern Turned Lamp

As the year draws to a close I love to look back at all that was accomplished in the previous year.
Here are a few of your well-pinned favorites.
Going back to February you loved the faux verdigris finish created on a former candle lantern turned lamp.

Painting the Front Door

One of the most heavily pinned images, which was originally shared in March, continues to be How to Create a Smooth Painted Finish on a Metal Door.

Eleanor’s Aprons

Created in honor of my Grandmother’s birthday month (April)  Eleanor’s Aprons were a wonderful success. A portion of the proceeds benefitted the American Heart Association.

Brick Flowerbed

September had us in high gear preparing for a family reunion. Attention was turned to the outside of Storybook Cottage and a brick wall for the flowerbed was installed.

The Sunroom

The Son room (aka sunroom) finally received some attention in the way of a daybed made from two antique headboards and some pillows made from vintage tea towels.

Jane Austen Regency Costume

The big favorite for October always seems to be the annual costume creation. This years ensemble resulted in Becoming Jane which was created for an incredible $10.

Wonderful post, Laura—I enjoyed every bit of it. How your family has grown! Your son and daughter are something be proud of. I love your new home, you did a smash up job. I missed your Christmas Home Tour so I'll scroll back.

Happy and Merry belated Christmas, my friend!

Laura, what can I say? This is simply outstanding. Each and every project you accomplished this past year outdid the one prior – and that doesn't even count your accomplishments in the classroom! Really, truly, excellent. Your holiday decor is magazine-worthy, but even without the decor, your home is beautifully appointed. Happy New Year.

    Hi Laura,
I enjoyed reading your update and yes, you accomplished many beautiful projects over the past year. Like you, I so enjoy the slow pace in the days after Christmas Day and I mostly enjoy being off work for 2 1/2 weeks each Christmas season so that I can lazily enjoy whatever I want each day until the 2nd week of January. 🙂
    Love, Linda
