The Best of 2015
I have been cooking up a storm and continuing to try and watch all of the new holiday-themed movies. Lest you think I am now part sloth I have also been busy creating. The past few days I made coats for all the well-loved canine members of our family.
Lantern Turned Lamp
Painting the Front Door
Eleanor’s Aprons
Created in honor of my Grandmother’s birthday month (April) Eleanor’s Aprons were a wonderful success. A portion of the proceeds benefitted the American Heart Association.
One Room Challenge
There was also the reveal of the One Room Challenge which included the living and dining rooms featuring the Painted French Hutch.
Two Antique Chairs
Slipcovered Headboard
In May the guest room received a makeover which included a slipcovered headboard.
Anthro Inspired Applique Curtains
New Countertops
June saw the completion of new countertops and a subway tile backsplash for the Storybook Cottage kitchen.
Laundry Room Updates
Built-In Cabinets
July seemed to be woodworking month as the built-in cabinets were finally installed in the ginormous fireplace area.

Back To School
Brick Flowerbed
September had us in high gear preparing for a family reunion. Attention was turned to the outside of Storybook Cottage and a brick wall for the flowerbed was installed.
The Sunroom
The Son room (aka sunroom) finally received some attention in the way of a daybed made from two antique headboards and some pillows made from vintage tea towels.
Jane Austen Regency Costume
The big favorite for October always seems to be the annual costume creation. This years ensemble resulted in Becoming Jane which was created for an incredible $10.
The Fashionista’sBathroom
November presented a new upstairs bathroom for the Fashionista. A bit of demolition was done and a new tile floor was installed.
Then Came December
I am also feeling very blessed that the numbers are continuing to go through the roof for the Holiday Home Tour Part I.

Laura, what can I say? This is simply outstanding. Each and every project you accomplished this past year outdid the one prior – and that doesn't even count your accomplishments in the classroom! Really, truly, excellent. Your holiday decor is magazine-worthy, but even without the decor, your home is beautifully appointed. Happy New Year.

Hi Laura,
I enjoyed reading your update and yes, you accomplished many beautiful projects over the past year. Like you, I so enjoy the slow pace in the days after Christmas Day and I mostly enjoy being off work for 2 1/2 weeks each Christmas season so that I can lazily enjoy whatever I want each day until the 2nd week of January. 🙂
Love, Linda

Your year has been a whirlwind. What you accomplished in one year, I have yet to accomplished in 10 years (no kidding!). My question for you is, what's next? Most everything is done! haha
