Friday Field Trip Pumpkin Paradise

Welcome to Friday Field Trip Pumpkin Paradise. Recently we’ve had a revolving door of visiting houseguests. One of my favorite places to take visitors is the Dallas Arboretum. Their latest display featured an amazing array of pumpkins.

Here is a close up so you can see how the walls of the pumpkin “house” were constructed.

There was also a “log cabin” made from Indian corn.

All of the walkways were lined with pumpkins.

The gardens feature autumnal mums and marigolds which the Monarch butterflies love.

I adored this mini pumpkin and cornstalk garland which was created with copper wire.

The displays are interactive and they encourage you to explore which makes it a perfect destination for kids.

They have Cinderella’s pumpkin coach complete with two cornhusk steeds.

You can find several local residents in the gardens as well.

The Christmas display begins on November 8th and runs through the new year.

I hope you have enjoyed the tour.

    than anywhere else on earth!”

I hope that your tours of the Arboretum are a refreshment to your spirit during this busy season. The pumpkin display is amazing and I look forward to a possible post on the holiday decorations as well.

    That's pretty! 🙂
Sarah went to our campus arboretum the other day but all of the flower beds were now completely bare – we found all of the annuals, still blooming, in the large trash bins. Guess because we had frost (only once or twice), they were spent and it was time to clean out the beds, but it made me sad to see. The perennials are dying down as well… winter is on the way.
