Truly Décor To Adore has some of the best readers /friends on the planet. Your response was just fantastic to the 2015 “There’s No Place Like Home” charitable ornament. Thank you from the bottom of many furry little hearts. This post is about Falling in Love at the Shelter.
Falling in Love at the Shelter
This past Friday the Boy Scout and I were able to purchase for the North Texas Humane Society wish list:
- Two large bags of Purina One dog food
- Two large bags of Purina One cat food
- 2 large bags of rawhide bones
- 2 twenty five pound bags of cat litter
- 4 extra large bottles of bleach
- 1 extra large bottle of Pine Sol
After the Boy Scout unloaded the bounty we took a tour of the shelter. This was when we met Max and fell in love.
As we already have two shelter dogs (Rudi and Franz) living at Storybook Cottage we had to sadly leave him behind but wanted to let you know that if you are considering adopting a pet this holiday season please remember your local shelter. Max was a delight and had several other cute canine and friendly feline companions waiting for a home.
There are still eight “No Place Like Home” ornaments in the Etsy Shoppe and 100% of the profits go towards two great charities of your choice.
Update: Thank you, all of the ornaments have sold!
Living a season of giving,
Laura

This is so special and I know so much appreciated by the shelter Laura! Your Boy Scout is a great partner for you in times like this. ( I always want to take all of the residents home!)

It's so great to see your son serving his community and having such a big heart! The apple certainly doesn't fall far from the tree! I'm sure the Humane Society and all its residents appreciate all your kind efforts.

What a wonderful way to share some puppy love with some critters. 🙂 Our daughter and grandson volunteer time at their local pet shelter. They walk and help groom the pets and sometimes just give them some much needed petting and attention. The animals are often scared and worn from being in a strange place but someone with a gentle voice and calm manner helps a bit. I send old pillows, towels and blankets along with them for care and bedding. They never have enough.
Thanks for sharing this inspiring story and big hugs to your wonderful son for being so caring! 🙂
