A Cookbook for the College Kid

Back in July, I had come across the blog Controlling My Chaos. Its author, Jill, is fantastically creative and organized. Yeah, I know~ but it's like Mulan's grandmother said, "We can't ALL be acupuncturists." :) Anyhow, she had created this great filing system for her recipes. Even better she provided a tutorial AND graciously posted her darling templates. So here is A Cookbook for the College Kid. A Cookbook for the College Kid Now like any good mother I had begun to think about if the ... View the Post

A tub with a view

I try to begin my day with ten minutes of peace. This is achieved by taking a relaxing bath. When we remodeled the master bathroom our contractor installed an inconvenient towel bar on the side of the shower. It has remained empty. This is the view I have "enjoyed" while taking my soaks for the past two years. A tub with a view. Alice in Wonderland Party

We recently hosted a housewarming Alice in Wonderland Party at the Fashionista's new home.  For invitations, I decided to embellished some note cards I already had on hand. They originally looked like this: Alice in Wonderland Party A quaint tea party image, leftover scrapbook paper and Stickles glitter glue resulted in this: I put the information on the back of the note card. The divine Miss F is currently saving her pennies to purchase her dream dining set. So instead we placed ... View the Post

How to decorate your first apartment on a budget

In the last post, I showed you the Fashionista's new apartment. That was the good. Just so you could appreciate what we did a little bit more I thought I'd give you some ugly. The first thing to greet us was a screen door with no handle. How to decorate your first apartment on a budget. How to decorate your first apartment on a budget But don't worry, much of the missing hardware was found in a cupboard. Like ALL of the cupboards in the apartment, it had cow print contact paper. Nice. I ... View the Post

The Fashionista’s Wonderland

We bought a two-bedroom condo near ASU in August. The Fashionista now lives in it and we hope the second bedroom will soon hold a roommate. It was a foreclosure that had sat empty for 8 months and it had been a rental property before that. So in one word it was: DIRTY! With a little elbow grease and creative decorating it has turned into a pretty cute casita. When I think about what my own first apartment looked like, (couch pulled from the dumpster, tiny black and white tv set on an overturned ... View the Post
