Every year I create a handcrafted ornament or Christmas decoration for my kids. This year it is Acorn Elves. Acorn Elves In addition I make a limited edition for my etsy shop. While this year is no exception, there is twist. I am calling this years ornament “Elves for Ceekay”. This is my good friend Ceekay (with my doxie Rudi). She writes the blog “Thinkin of Home”. Ceekay is currently in the hospital fighting a very bad reaction to her most recent chemotherapy session. Ceekay and I ... View the Post
The Holiday Wreaths of Colonial Williamsburg
Last Thanksgiving I arose in the early morning and quietly shut the hotel door behind me while Mr. Décor and Sweet Boy slept on. I was on a mission to photograph the buildings, workers and the holiday wreaths of Colonial Williamsburg before the crowds arrived. Indeed the sun was just coming up, my breath frosty in the cold, as I began to walk along the Duke of Gloucester Street. The Holiday Wreaths of Colonial Williamsburg The first wreath I spied had a lovely fir base and was ... View the Post

Because you know how wonderful it feels when everything just sparkles? Then it will only require weekly touchups throughout the busy holiday season. Some of the cleaning is ... View the Post

Our family of four celebrated a day early as the Fashionista has to work on Halloween night. What a fright! I have to say we actually had a lot of fun with our feast. Oh Sandy! Sweet T’s Halloween By Candlelight
Hurricane Sandy arrived with a vengeance. I have family in both Virginia and Pennsylvania and therefore I was and am watching closely and praying heavily. Cousin L in Arlington lost power. I found this image that made me weep. These men NEVER give up their post come hell or high water. Yesterday was a little bit of both. Cousin Sweet T in Pennsylvania also lost power and is currently still without it. School has been closed and people have been advised to remain at home. Halloween has ... View the Post
