When I last left you the military police were arresting me at Norfolk Naval Station for peeping into the backyards of the beautiful housing known as Admiral’s Row. Sailing, Sailing Over the Deep Blue Sea. Just kidding. Almost. From there we went to see the Navy’s oldest continually running hospital in Portsmouth. Sailing, Sailing Over the Deep Blue Sea Meandering around Portsmouth we came upon a floating lighthouse. I had never heard of such a thing and thought it was incredibly ... View the Post
A Summertime Table, Good Friends and Thanksgiving Turkeys
I have a friend whose husband was seriously considering the idea of moving to Arizona. They have visited previously in the winter and the spring and loved it. I said that before moving here permanently they should probably come experience a July or August here. They arrived early Thursday with large suitcases in hand. A Summertime Table, Good Friends, and Thanksgiving Turkeys As per my usual happy hostess method, I set a happy holiday table. A Summertime Table, Good Friends, and ... View the Post
A Two Week Vacation Wardrobe With Just 12 Pieces
Over a week ago I shared with you my personal challenge to travel for almost 2 weeks with just a carry on. (You can see the pieces I included as well as my accessories HERE.) Guess what? I did it! Day one had me traveling across the country with just my carry on and a basket that acted as my “purse” containing my wallet, plane tickets, magazines, a book, healthy snacks and my beloved Canon camera. I wore a sweater as I always get cold on planes, a striped blouse, navy capri’s, as well as ... View the Post
Fit Friday: An Easy & Yummy Greek Appetizer ~ Tzatziki

You will need: 1 cup of good plain Greek yogurt (I prefer Trader Joe’s). 1 peeled and grated cucumber The juice of one lemon (you can add more or less to taste if you like). 2 large cloves of garlic ... A Bon Voyage Themed Party
Last Sunday I was on the phone with my good friend Jackie and inquired about when she was expecting the movers. “On Monday” she replied. “What!” I practically shouted. “I know. It’s come up too quickly.” She said. It was time for A Bon Voyage Themed Party. A Bon Voyage Themed Party I quickly looked around my house and saw some spaces that were still in a disheveled state from my recent trip to California. I thought of Erma Bombeck and her “If I Had My Life To Live Over” poem which includes ... View the Post
Remnants of the Past
The Fashionista and I drove from Phoenix to Laguna Beach late Thursday night. We encountered unbelievable traffic and detours. Up early Friday morning to pack up the truck we drove another 5 hours to San Luis Obispo. I was a bit of a nervous wreck hauling such a precious load for such a great distance. We were headed to the Remnants of the Past show. Remnants of the Past Upon arriving I was filled with giddiness brought on by the creative beauty of the outdoor booths. This lovely gem ...
