All Is Calm All Is Bright

Happy 5th Day of Christmas! Are you now singing “Five Gold Ringggggssss”? The 12th day of Christmas will occur on January 6th~ the Epiphany. The day when the wise men arrived and presented their treasures to Christ. All Is Calm All Is Bright. All Is Calm, All Is Bright I absolutely adore this Christmas season. I know in Blogland a different season is celebrated. The preseason. It’s more of a race. It seems to focus on who can be the first to get their wreath on the door. ... View the Post

Happy Holidays For One and All

Our home is glowing and we hope it will be Happy Holidays For One and All. Happy Holidays For One and All Not because of happy little villages… Or baubles of blue…. Even though we don’t have a tree or a huge pile of presents the glow is bright and it is coming from within. Today we would like to let our light shine. Nicholas’ 669 Children

You may have recently seen an advertisement for a new film in which a man inadvertently fathers 533 children. It’s a comedy and there may be some sort of lesson or message to be gleaned. I’m not sure as I have not seen the film. However, there is a man that I hope Hollywood does make a movie about. Perhaps it will be titled Nicholas’ 669 Children. One can only hope. The word advent comes from the Latin word adventus which means waiting. Several churches mark the advent season by using the liturgical colors of blue or purple on their banners, altar cloths, and vestments (religious clothing) Blue and purple signify hope and royalty. Our church lights a candle on an advent wreath each week.  The Advent ... View the Post

The Climb

Yesterday was a gorgeous Arizona spring day~ clear and in the ’70s. It was time for The Climb. Also known as the 30th Annual Climb For Cancer on South Mountain. Back in early January, we asked if there was anyone we could climb for. We received several names. The Climb Two weeks ago I learned that my very, very good friend Marci has cancer. She is 38. You met her last year in the post “A Rose Amongst the Thorns”. So the walk was made for Marci and many others. All names were ... View the Post

Faith and Christmas Miracles

Have you ever had to describe what faith is to another person? This is a special story on Faith and Christmas Miracles. Explaining  It can be quite difficult. The dictionary defines faith as: “A firm belief in something for which there is no proof.” For me, my personal religious faith is so much more than that, although I find that I am at a loss for words to describe my feelings. Instead, I would like to tell you a story about reaffirming faith. Faith can be tricky for some. Like the sea, it ... View the Post
