Swap Soiree

Today I am turning another year older. I always feel so blessed to do so. So I am celebrating with a Swap Soiree. Swap Soiree I mentioned before that we recently downsized. It is SO freeing to get rid of a bunch of stuff. But the hard part is getting rid of a bunch of stuff. Really nice stuff that you think “I wish I knew someone who would appreciate this good stuff.” The premise of a Swap Soiree is you invite your décor loving friends over and ask them to bring one item (or more! More! ... View the Post

Let’s Get This Party Started

You’ve been so patient and have waited long enough. Let’s join Jenny and Let’s Get This Party Started. Let’s Get This Party Started My dear friends tried to arrive at 8:30 am. They rang the doorbell and heard crickets chirping. (More on that story later.) At 9 am they finally called me on my cell and asked: “When are you going to be here?” I replied, “I am here.” “We rang the bell.” “Oh, yeah, the doorbell (among 500 other things) is broken. I’ll let you in.” Julie got right to work ... View the Post

Ladies and Gentlemen The Beatles Birthday Tablescape

This week my Grandmother Eleanor, aka “Grandma Jingles”,  turns 90. I think this calls for a celebration. The Fashionista also recently had a birthday. But Grandma likes The Beatles too.  As I have mentioned before my daughter is an old soul who likes mid-century modern and everything vintage. I always keep my eye out for ... View the Post

Vintage Inspired Resurrection Eggs

Every spring I try to create something by hand for my children. It is a bit of love to place in their Easter basket that perhaps they will cherish. This year is Vintage Inspired Resurrection Eggs. Vintage Inspired Resurrection Eggs This Easter project was one I have been wanting to create for several years. But it requires Papier-mâché eggs. Generally, by the time spring rolls around and I think about it the bins at the craft store that hold such eggs are EMPTY. This year was no ... View the Post

All Things Irish Reel to Reel

Last Friday when I first announced that I would be dedicating several posts to the "All Things Irish" theme many people made comments regarding The Quiet Man. This led me to think about all of the wonderful Irish-themed films I have viewed over the years. I thought I would share a few of my favorites so that you may perhaps have an Irish film viewing party on your own. All Things Irish Reel to Reel. All Things Irish Reel to Reel 1.The Quiet Man~ A hands-down favorite. I think that this was ... View the Post

All Things Irish Festive Fare

Today's post covers All Things Irish Festive Fare. Green is my favorite color. I love to set the table for St. Patrick's Day dinner. You can create mini votives by coring an apple and adding a candle. All Things Irish Festive Fare I love the elegant simplicity of this Celtic tablecloth created with a stencil and fabric paint. If my children are good, a leprechaun might leave a few gold coins sprinkled next to their place setting. Irish Recipes Continuing the simple ... View the Post
