Love Lives In This House

I have always loved Valentine's Day. I believe that it is not just a day reserved for lovers, but for everyone with love in their heart. Even during my single years I would make plans to share a meal with other single friends, send a card to my widowed relatives and generally let those special people in my life know that they were (and are) loved. Love Lives In This House. This is the porch vignette that is currently greeting any visiting family or friends: Love Lives In This ... View the Post

Whats In Your Lunchbox

Today I embark on yet another semester of school. Last Thursday I invited a friend and classmate over for lunch to make sure that we were actually ready to inflict such torture upon ourselves once again. Whats In Your Lunchbox? Little Laura Ingalls (brunette with pink yarn bows) enjoying kindergarten lunch at Lincoln School. Whats In Your Lunchbox I met Karen last semester in my CAD (computer-aided drafting) class. Happy New Year Part 2

Should auld acquaintances be forgotten? I think not! I leave my Christmas decorations up until after January 6th. It likes to mingle with my New Year's Eve decor. Happy New Year Part 2. Decorating with Children

Decorating with Children, it can be done, I promise! For our New Year's Eve table , enlisted Sweet Boy's help. He's seven and all boy, but oddly enough likes to help decorate. Trying to not include him could be disastrous on many levels. For the table I channeled my inner Frosty. Decorating with Children We began by creating a table runner made out of various doilies that I had on hand. They reminded me of snowflakes. I then added some tarnished sparkle in the form of unpolished ... View the Post

Free Gift Tags

Now that I have your attention, I'd like to say that I have not purchased gift tags in many years. I create Free Gift Tags from the stack of Christmas cards we receive in the mail. You don't have to be green with envy. I'll show you how to make your own. Free Gift Tags First I put on my elf shoes. I love these shoes and it's the only time of year I can wear them without attracting strange looks. But, you can skip this step. Next, sift through your pile of cards. Sadly, a few will not ... Here We Come A-Wassailing

Here We Come A-Wassailing! I am so glad you're here! If you don't care for wassail, there is also a hot chocolate bar. (I like to place a few red hots in my cocoa.) The whipped cream is in the refrigerator, please help yourself. I am even willing to share some of my tea. The nativity in the background is from the Black Forest of Germany. It is called a Schwibbogen. Here We Come A-Wassailing Perhaps a coconut cupcake to go along with your drink? We can watch "Elf" if you need a ... View the Post
