Our Easter Tree and Crazy Bunnies

Our family has had an Easter tree for many years. We started the tradition while living in Germany. The Easter tree and its decorations are often the only Easter décor you will find in a German or Austrian home. Here is Our Easter Tree and Crazy Bunnies. Believe it or not, in the 5 years I have been writing this blog I have never shared any pictures of our annual Easter tree. I guess that was because I was too busy creating and sharing crafts. But perhaps my busyness in areas other than ... View the Post

St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape

If you need a quick St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape this post is for you! Two weeks ago I got lucky and discovered chocolate leprechauns at See’s Candy. St. Patrick’s Day is sneaking up on me. I sat down last night to get inspired. Here is St Patricks Day Food and Fun. Long-time readers of my blog know I love out-of-the-box and inexpensive ideas. Repurposing sweaters as “vase warmers” yep, it’s a winner. St Patricks Day Food and Fun Indeed the entire scene is perfect for those who may not quite have a St. Paddy’s “spring” in their step. The paring of teal and kelly green is lovely. This idea made me happy and I just might steal ... View the Post

Vintage Floral Easter Eggs

I had a feeling that Easter would sneak up on me like a quiet little bunny. For the past month, whenever I have had a spare moment I’ve been creating some lovely pastel colored Vintage Floral Easter Eggs. Vintage Floral Easter Eggs The eggs themselves were papier-mâché forms that were imported from Germany. Sadly, Blümchen no longer carries these exact gems. I gave each egg three coats of paint and topped it with a soft glaze.  The interiors remained brightly shaded for a fun ... View the Post

Pretty Red Pillows

Pretty Red Pillows perfect for Valentine's Day. Pretty Red Pillows Back in December, I decided I wanted to incorporate a bit of red into the front room décor since so much of our vintage Christmas décor was red.  I loved the “Villa Martine” fabric by Ralph Lauren. It had a bit of blue and cream in the print which worked so well with my blue and cream ticking slipcovered chairs. By the yard it was a bit beyond my budget but enter in a king sized sham found on clearance at HomeGoods. I ... View the Post
