Easy Romantic Scarf Made from Doilies

Last year my cousin Lynn sent me a large box of vintage embroidered linens and doilies. I have been giving it my best shot to follow her instructions “to make something lovely”. As the weather turned chilly and Valentine’s Day crafts floated through my mind I thought “Could I create an Easy Romantic Scarf Made from Doilies?" Easy Romantic Scarf Made from Doilies I quickly laid out a few doilies and decided I would create a pattern that would range from a large 10-inch doily down to a small ... View the Post

Forget the KonMari Method Share The Love Valentine

Yesterday I spent most of the cold January day indoors working upstairs in the combination office/craft/sewing room. Like so many other people I am trying to organize my home this month. The hot trend right now is the Japanese method of tidying up. The KonMari method believes that you should hold each item in your hands and if it does not “Spark Joy” then you should get rid of it. Winning the Holidays

The day after Thanksgiving I mailed out 97 Christmas cards complete with a charming holiday newsletter and family photo. It was like Winning the Holidays. Creating Stockings from Antique Lace and Vintage Doilies When I began planning the turquoise and peacock theme for the living and dining room I looked for stockings in that color palette but came up empty-handed. ... Searching For The Quiet Days of Christmas

Raise your hand if you’re a bit burned out and Searching For The Quiet Days of Christmas. Searching For The Quiet Days of Christmas It can often happen this time of year. We can believe that there is simply too much to do in too little time. Two months ago I made the decision to take a 6 week semester off from college. Trying to maintain a happy home life along with straight A’s had worn me out completely. To try and do it during the holidays seemed overwhelming. It was a ... View the Post

Bloggers Holiday Luncheon

The First Annual Bloggers Holiday Luncheon was an amazing success! Bloggers Holiday Luncheon Given that most of us had never met one another in person I thought it would be helpful to create name tags from vintage holiday images in a prize ribbon style.  Group Photo  It was such fun getting to know this wonderful group.  Back row left to right~ Katie of Let's Add Sprinkles, Stacey from Poofing the Pillows, Julie from Lilacs and Longhorns, Lisa of Hospitable Pursuits, longtime reader, ...
