How does your lantern glow

One of my favorite blogs is Between Naps On The Porch. I know that many of you share this sentiment. Susan captures nature, creative makeovers, and tablescapes through gorgeous photography. Her images truly are "eye candy". Susan recently hosted a giveaway that was sponsored by the wonderful Colonial Candle. This amazing giveaway had two lucky winners for one of two lanterns featured below. You can bet your bottom dollar that I entered. How does your lantern glow Then life went on as it ... How Anthro is lovely

The Fashionista has finished her summer internship. It resulted in a job with a sister store.Woohoo! I have to be the proud mom and show you a few of her efforts. Although I must apologize for the quality of the photos. I think it has something to do with the model featured in this shot. How Anthro is lovely. How Anthro is lovely Why do I think it is this particular person? He left evidence that he used mom's camera and now the camera is not working properly. Hmmm. Ok, back to the first ... View the Post

Little Miss Muffett

I am still working on our guest room but I thought I would give you a little sneak peek of one of the projects. Back in April I wrote a post on great guest bedrooms and shared with you my goal of only using things that I already owned, found in thrift stores or Craiglist to transform this room into a wonderfully tranquil space. Guess what? I am staying true to my word. Here is a chair that I found for practically nothing on Craigslist. Little Miss Muffett. Little Miss Muffett I had been ... View the Post

What a girl leaves behind

I struggle a bit bringing the three paint cans into the now empty space. They are filled to the brim with Rhapsody Lilac. I wonder for a moment if. I have selected this shade as much for the name as the color. A melodious song of aromatic sweetness. Yes,  that is what I want in my life right now. What a girl leaves behind. What a girl leaves behind A fourth can contains “Marshmallow”, a slightly pinkish cream that will cover the inside of the closet and all of the trim. She liked the sound ... View the Post

Pillowcase Parade

I recently had my sewing machine out for another project and had been digging through my huge chest of vintage fabric. I came across several things that I decided I would finally finish. The first project consisted of a vintage pillowcase material. In the past, you could purchase this material that came on a roll. It was somewhat like a tube and the shopkeeper would just cut off the desired length to suit the individual. I had a few of these cases. Pillowcase Parade. Pillowcase Parade One ... View the Post

A lamp and a chair

Today rounds up a week-long series on decorating a room fit for a wee world traveler. In the last post, I showed you how I made a customized typography basket and sewed a simple Sumo banner. (Say that fast 5 times. :) This post will cover how I customized a lamp for Sweet Boys room as well as an idea for a cost-saving slipcover. A lamp and a chair. A lamp and a chair I have had this lovely little slipper chair for years. It originally belonged to my great-grandmother. Over the years it ... View the Post
