When I began planning my trip to New Orleans at the top of my “must see” list was perch. on Magazine Street. Joni said that I had to visit with the wonderfully effervescent Valorie Hart. Valorie works at this amazing store which I had already read about previously via Velvet and Linen, Willow Decor and many others who have philosophically waxed of its wonders. Indeed the building that houses perch. had me at “Hello”. Perch Yourself in New Orleans. Perch Yourself in New Orleans Having begun ... View the Post
Plantation Homes
We have returned from our trip, a bit road weary, but nonetheless filled with memories of time spent with friends and family. This post will focus on the beautiful Plantation Homes of Louisiana. I was recently thinking about the blessed French and their great tradition of taking a month-long holiday in August. Although my son's school will start next Monday here in Phoenix, I thought this blog could serve as a literary traveling holiday for the next few weeks. Plantation Homes Last ... View the Post
Carrie Leaves the Penthouse SATC 2
A little over two years ago I wrote a post entitled “Carrie Bradshaw Gets A New Apartment”. That post continues to receive a few hits a week. I felt it was my sacred design duty to write about the decor in the sequel. So I viewed Sex In The City 2 immediately upon its release. Today I thought I would share a few pictures from Wednesday nights Little House children's event. Here's our family all dressed up to meet the wee folk. It's the picture you dartboard enthusiasts have been waiting for, a prairie girl. Prairie Girl I brought in my family album, a few of the Little House books in other languages and a favorite Little House Christmas ... View the Post
Little House on the Prairie The Musical
Little House on the Prairie The Musical finally made a wagon train stop in Tempe, Arizona. Of course, I HAD to go. On the opening night no less. Little House on the Prairie The Musical Melissa Gilbert plays the part of "Ma". There is no doubt about it, the lady can sing! Her song to Laura "Wild Child" made me all misty. Steve Blanchard fills the boots of "Pa" quite well. His voice is like golden honey. The entire cast is truly wonderful! The entire audience laughed and cried ... View the Post
