Hello sweet friends from a very cold and snowy Storybook Cottage. I think something cozy and cheerful is in order. Let’s make an Easy Low Cost Valentine Centerpiece.
Today I am inspired by a Pinterest Challenge hosted by my talented friend Cindy; of County Road 407. If you are visiting from Our Southern Home let me say “Welcome to our home!”

Pinterest Challenge
This month, the challenge was to create a fun seasonal centerpiece. Our inspiration photo comes from the talented Kate at Southern Home and Hospitality.
The Image Features:
- A cozy French kitchen
- Three Valentine topiaries
- Pink flowers
Easy Low Cost Valentine Centerpiece
The beautiful thing about the Pinterest Challenge is it supposed to inspire you to create. It does not require you to recreate the exact same image.

Recently, I have been making some old fashioned Valentine’s and had some leftover images.
You can find Victorian Valentine images quite easily. I have several pinned on my Valentine Pinterest board.
You can download the images below and print them out on your computer at home. Then decorate with glitter and more.

After cutting out the images out I hot glued them onto a bamboo skewer.

A Festive Tablescape
Knowing that we would be snowed in for several days I wanted to create a festive and cheerful tablescape in our eat in kitchen area.

Last week I shared the Valentine shelf complete with spun cotton cuties in our kitchen HERE.
I started with this sweet vintage tablecloth that features lace and rose illustration details.

Next came some vintage lace napkins and lovely ceramic napkin rings that were recently gifted to me by my dear friend Becky.

In the center of the table I arranged three vintage milk glass vases to represent the three pots in the inspiration image.

The vases were filled with pink flowers from the grocery store. They were in the $2 clearance section.
Then I simply just tucked the bamboo skewers into the arrangements.

This tablescape was created in just a few minutes. It’s cheerful colors have kept us cozy in this cold weather.
Tomorrow I am headed to Virginia for a week. While there I will be visiting the historical clothing archives at Colonial Williamsburg and Mount Vernon. This is all in preparation to recreate a similar dress based on Martha Washington’s pink silk inaugural dress for a presentation I will be giving in April on National First Ladies Day. This is part of the ongoing America250 celebrations held throughout the U.S. this year.
Up next is Carol from Bluesky At Home.

So cute, so easy and so delightful. If there is anything I have, it is vintage Valentine (and other) graphics! Hmmm. Wheels are spinning…
This is a perfect idea! We are celebrating our daughter’s birthday on Valentine’s Day this year, since snowy weather 2 weekends in a row prevented it. I love this idea!!! This will be so cute for a birthday/Valentine’s Day family dinner.
