Hello, sweet friends, in just one week, my son will be a married man. With the last name of Gunn and a focus on our family’s heritage, a few Gaelic traditions are being included in the wedding ceremony and celebration. If you love the Highlands, tartan, and more, this post is for you. Let us begin with Friday Favorites Wander.

Tartan Tablescapes
I love the touch of coziness that tartans and plaid can bring to a table. Using weaves with fall colors help to create absolute stunning Thanksgiving table settings.

Scottish Shortbread
A typical Scottish Shortbread recipe only uses 4-5 ingredients. But it is the quality and preparation that can make this buttery cookie shine.
Tartan Craft Idea
While I couldn’t specifially find a tartan bookmark tutorial the DIY that I created for velvet bookmarks HERE will get you the same result as the example below.

Tommy’s Honour
It can be a bit challenging to find something that both Mr. Decor and I will enjoying watching together. We recommend Tommy’s Honour for those 14 and up. While I am not a golfer, I enjoyed this true story of Tom Morris, the greenkeeper and professional of the St. Andrews links, and his son Tommy Morris. To this day Tommy still holds the record set in 1868 as youngest major champion in the PGA which he won at the age of 17. Both men forever changed golf into what we know of it today. Fair warning: you will need a hanky.

In Case You Missed It
Fast and Easy Holiday Hash Recipe
I hope you’ll come back on Tuesday when I share the first of my holiday decor. Here is a sneak peek:

Have a wonderful weekend,
Laura

Everything is so beautifully decorated for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday!
All of the table decor is absolutely gorgeous!
I really love the bookmarks, thank you for your tutorial!
I am excited to see you Christmas decor, I love the tree ornaments that match the ribbon on the tree!
Thank you so much for stopping by, Rebecca!
I loved looking at the tablescapes and all the plaids and Autumn colors. So pretty. I know you are anxious for the upcoming wedding and I am looking forward to pictures of the event.
We will check out the golf story…always looking for something without lots of bad language and nudity. This story sounds innocent enough. I was reading earlier of a school teacher who had died and influenced lots of high school students…but one of the students wrote a lengthy tribute but couldn’t seem too write without using the “F” word in every sentence. What a shame the English language is being dismissed.
Have a great and Blessed day Laura.
Hi Kari,
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a gorgeous day!

These tables are so warm and welcoming. I love the tartan look too and the browns are especially wonderful. Also crushing on the bookmarks! They’re great — I might have missed this but are they a party favor for the wedding or one of the wedding events? I know they’ll be loved.
Hi Jeanie,
The bookmarks were a party favor for a soiree I held last year.
Have a gorgeous day!
Laura
Laura, you become more and more professional with every week that passes. The table settings are gorgeous!
Aww you are too kind! Thank you so much for your visit. Happy Thanksgiving!
