An Early Touch Of Fall In The Kitchen

Hello sweet friends, welcome to Seasonal Saturdays! After taking most of the summer off from posting home decor projects I am excited to jump back in and join this autumnal themed hop hosted by the lovely Amber of Follow The Yellow Brick Home.  Her classical fall decor is so inspiring.

Today I am sharing  An Early Touch Of Fall In The Kitchen.

An Early Touch Of Fall In The Kitchen

Welcome to Storybook Cottage. I recently cleared away all of the blue and white touches that decorated this space during the warm summer months.

An Early Touch Of Fall In The Kitchen

I recently celebrated a birthday and my dear friend Mary sent me this beautiful floral arrangment. It was perfect to pair with the cheerful tablerunner in soft fall shades.

Fall Tablescape

My dear friend Dartanyan designed this amazing tablerunner.

Scrap fabric was quickly turned into fun calico napkins. It pairs nicely with the new flatware that Mr. Decor recently selected.

Work Space

All of the blue and white china was removed from the small glass cabinet. It is now filled with neutral white pieces that I use often.

Kitchen workspace

I also like to change out my cookbooks. I find that I use them more if they are out on display.

I Would Love Your Opinion

I made a new Roman shade for the window using leftover fabric scraps. I’m not in love with it. I think perhaps the fabric would look better as cafe styled curtains. I would love for you to leave a comment below with your input.

It’s always a bit frustrating when you spend 6+ hours on a project and it doesn’t turn out as you hope.

But at least I had cutinge helpers!

It might grow on me.

I even did fancy top stitching.

To the left I gathered up cleaning tools used on a daily basis. Do you use scrubbing brushes? I love them!

A Happy Hearth

The hearth got a refresh as well.

The carved heart was an after Valentine’s Day find that I’ve left up because I love it.

I hope you have enjoyed this first foray into fall here at Storybook Cottage. I shall be back with more fall decor on Tuesday.

Laura, it’s all so beautiful and inviting! Before you even said anything about your curtain over the sink, I was thinking how much I loved it! The pattern and colors are so warm! Wonderful to see your lovely work as always!

I absolutely love the look! Your hearth is so warm and beautiful! The curtain has my vote. I thought it looked great and then when you showed the fancy top stitching, I was sold! A++

So cozy! I gathered two ideas from you…. Putting a loved cookbook on a picture easel and putting scrub brushes in a crock—- so simple yet charming. May I ask where did you find the sweet carved heart? It is adorable. Thinking early fall cool weather!!

I absolutely love your early fall decor!
The table runner is gorgeous, and beautiful decorated with the warmth of fall, the flowers are just beautiful!
I love the roman shade, and the detail with the ribbons at the bottom, it ties in beautifully with your table decor!
Thank you for sharing this lovely post and tour through the lovely cottage!

Beautiful seasonal transition, Laura! I adore those fabric scrap napkins! I like the idea of trying the cafe curtains, mainly because you aren’t happy with the Roman shade, so it’s worth experimenting with a new look.

I love the pretty fresh flowers, always good to enjoy summer flowers while still in bloom! I also love the beautiful display of copper and other kitchen pretties behind the stove. Your kitchen is perfect for any season!

Thank you so much for joining the hop!

Laura your Fall kitchen is lovely…I like the curtain and before you commented, I thought it matched your pretty table items.I love the copper above your range but I would probably have it splattered with grease spots… seems I am always cleaning up splatters around my gas cooktop. Have a great day and your fur babies are adorable.

I have always loved your kitchen. Every nook and cranny. That includes the ceiling! Your fall touches really warm up your kitchen, and I especially love the little wagon in the window. I think your new curtain is beautiful, but since you don’t love it, you’ll probably love it somewhere else. I see the cute doggies do. 🙂
