Yesterday on my walk with Grace as I returned home I noticed that seemingly overnight the daffodils have begun to spring up. I cannot tell you the joy that this brought to my heart. I instantly was inspired to remove all the winter decor from the front porch and give it a clean sweep. Here’s to Friday Favorites A Bit Of Sunshine.
Happy Camper
My spring and summer schedule has begun to fill up with various speaking engagements. As I book various hotels and Airbnbs I must admit that perhaps a camper might be in my future. The cheerful color palette used in this happy gem makes my heart sing.
Friday Favorites A Bit Of Sunshine
About once a week I roast an entire chicken. Usually three meals can be created from one bird. Yesterday I slowly simmered the bones to create a homemade broth and went on to make Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup. It was like sunshine in a bowl!
The Oscars
The 97th Academy Awards ceremony will take place this Sunday. In past years I have watched all the contenders for Best Film but this year I have seen only one. If you’re having a watch party here is a fun ballot.
Gorgeous George
A romantic Georgian villa, located in Somerset village just beyond the city of Bath, England is chock full of bright colors and playful patterns.
Oval Pot Holders
The kitchen at Storybook Cottage is in desperate need of some new potholders. I’ve been on the lookout for ages but have found nothing I like. It might be time to make these oval shaped cuties.
In Case You Missed It
Yesterday, on Instagram, I shared what the closing of Joann’s means for creatives like myself.
Friends this morning I am having the first of a two part oral surgery. It is outpatient continuing care for my broken jaw. I will be taking the next week, possibly two, off to recover.
Keep the happy in your heart!
Laura
Laura thank you for your bright and cheery pics…they would brighten anyone’s day. Please know that you will be in my prayers as you continue your journey with your broken jaw. Hugs and Blessings always.
Dear Laura, you are always such an inspiration to me. I think a camper would be such a fun thing for you, and you could also change decor in your little “tiny home-away-from-home…..how fun would that be!
Yes, I am also very distressed about the closing of Jo-Ann Fabrics. I’m not happy about paying the higher prices for period-looking calico at other fabric stores, and even less excited about ordering online, so I am definitely following your lead and checking out thrift stores and estate sales in hopes of finding calicos for my fabric stash.
You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through surgery and recovery for your broken jaw. Sending hugs and so much love, sweet friend. Love you.
