Hi sweet friends, how wonderful we made it to the end of a very long week. On Wednesday I shared that this is a special season I look forward to each year. Over the next 40 days, my focus is to see 40 opportunities to share kindness. What I know to be true is that once you open your heart and mind you don’t even have to look for the opportunity. They come to you. On Day One I had three magical moments right in the grocery store. Here’s to Friday Favorites 40 Days Of Kindness.
Simply Sweet Gatherings
I am keeping this idea for a spring picnic in mind. Doesn’t it look so inviting? What a kindness it would be to invite your friends out to an al fresco meal. If you met at a park you wouldn’t event need to clean your house!
This Looks So Fresh and Flavorful
We try to eat fish at least twice a week. This Sheet Pan Baked Salmon With Vegetables looks so good! You could double the recipe and take a plate to an elderly neighbor who lives alone.
Garden Tote
I was taking a spin around Pinterest looking for DIY garden tote ideas. This charmer, with it’s dritwood handles, is an oldie but a goodie. It’s perfect for gathering spring flowers to share with co-workers.
Adding In Charming Cheer
Earlier this week I dug out all of the floral and pastel colored sheets from the linen cabinets to dress the beds. I also changed out the kitchen curtain so a soft shade of pink. This post is chock full of charming decor ideas.
What I’m Watching
There’s no secret of my deep love for Princess Diana. There’s a new cooking show featuring Prince Harry’s wife, the Duchess of Sussex. From a design standpoint the farmhouse and surrounding grounds featured in the series are SO inspiring. But I’ll be honest in that I am not interested in recipes that take 3+ major steps such as brining, parboiling, and dredging before the food is finally ready for cooking. I’d love to know if you’re watching and what your thoughts are.
Friday Favorites 40 Days Of Kindness
Want to join me in 40 Days of Kindness? If you’re not sure where to start there are over 100 wonderful ideas on how to share kindness in this article.
Many of these ideas cost nothing. I remember when were a young family on a budget and I would find a coupon next to an item I needed. It was such a small gesture of kindness that was truly powerful.
In Case You Missed It
Today I am continuing to ready the house and gardens for spring. I added a few floral delights to the outdoor pots on the porch but wondering if Mother Nature doesn’t have at least one more cold front in store.
Have a lovely weekend.

You mote coupons as a young married. When I married Bill Gillmore in 1984, we moved to Phoenix where we both had new jobs waiting– or so we thought. Mine fell through. Every penny already counted and we were in the red now. I walked to the grocery store and the dry cleaner to save money. I checked the ground on my way for coupons. There was an incredibly kind and generous gal who asked me about it and who gave me coupons from her own very organized coupon wallet. It may have been only $3.50 in coupons but the kindness and generosity was golden and has never been forgotten these 41 years later.
