Hello, sweet friends welcome to the Love Is In The Air Valentine Hop. Today eight wonderfully creative friends are joining me with some lovely and inspiring ideas. If you are coming over from Peacock Ridge Farm let me say “Welcome to Storybook Cottage!” Wasn’t Renae’s Valentine’s tablescape gorgeous? Today I am sharing some Easy Valentine Craft Romantic Bon Bons.
Gather Your Scraps
This project is perfect for using up small scraps of paper, trim, and ribbons.
You will need:
- Cardboard tubes
- Decorative scrapbook paper
- Glitter glue
- Ribbon
- Crepe paper
- Decorative Valentine images
- Assorted trims and flowers
- Scissors
- Glue (either craft or hot glue)
Choose A Theme
The beauty of this craft is that you can customize the bon bons to suit any decor. My friend Michele is hosting a couples dinner in her home. I offered to make the party favors. She has chosen a romantic 18th century theme. Searching on Pinterest I found some pretty images for her color palette and theme. Just right click on the image to save it to print out at home.
Once the images are printed simply cut them out and add a bit of glitter glue for a touch of romantic sparkle. Set aside to dry.
Meanwhile cover your cardboard tubes with scrapbooking paper. This is a perfect opportunity to use up scraps.
I used hot glue to attach the paper but craft glue also works. Simply use a clothes pin or paper clip on the ends to hold the paper in place while the glue dries.
Add on tissue paper fringe, Dresden trim and/or other decorative embellishments.
Lastly, cut crepe paper sheets or tissue paper to fit the length of your tube. Extending the ends pf the paper about one inch past either end of the tube.
Fill with candy, tie the paper ends up with ribbon or twine and slide it into the tube.
