Hello sweet friends, Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I have been very busy creating in my time away. If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen a recent post that was quite exciting for me. I am so relieved that I can now share a secret I have been keeping in today’s Friday Favorites An Exciting Announcement.
Friday Favorites An Exciting Announcement
As many of you know 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the Little House on the Prairie television show. The celebration will kick off with a three day festival in the Los Angeles area in March. My amazingly talented friend, Olan Paz, is recreating the facades of Walnut Grove in Simi valley at the location where the show was filmed. There are several Little House themed interactive entertainment activites also being created for guests. They include Mrs. Whipple’s dress shop. The booth will feature 14 replicas of iconic costumes worn by characters of the show.
I am creating all of the garments and will be manning the booth along with my children.
To say I am over the moon would be an understatement!
In order to have the time to create 14 full costumes (to include petticoats, etc) I am sure you understand that I need to put Decor To Adore on the backburner for awhile. My plans are to post once a week with Friday Favorites.
Free Printable Calender
If you are still in need of a calender you might want to consider this free farmhouse themed calender from The Cottage Market. I have the sheets hanging in my sewing room to keep track of costume deadlines.
Creating Comfort
This next week temperatures will be dropping into the single digits where I live. I loved these ideas featured in creating a cozy and comfortable bed.
Framed Doilies
These framed doiles look like lovely little snowflakes to me. It’s a perfect solution for special antiques and family heirlooms.
Berry Crisp
I am still trying to follow the AIP (Auto Immune Protocol) diet to help with my Lupus flareup. I have reintroduced nuts as I love them so. This delicious gluten free berry crisp is perfect as a dessert or a sweet breakfast treat. It’s cozy comfort food at its best.
Getting Organized
My house currently looks as though a calico fabric bomb has gone off. I am trying to devote one hour each day into cleaning out closets and drawers. The process is slow going. But slow process is better than no process.
I liked the ideas The Grit and Polish shared in organizing their pantry.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I will see you next Friday.
