Hello sweet friends I hope you are well. It has been a fairly mild winter so far here at Storybook Cottage. But a cold front has now settled in for the next few days. Here’s to Friday Favorites Winter Comfort.

Friday Favorites Winter Comfort
I took down the last of the Christmas decor and now the house is quietly bare. In past years I have immediately put up some cheery Valentine decor, but I seem to currently be drawn to the clean bareness of it all. I am rather inspired by Sally Wilkinson’s rented flat.
I love the charming neutrality with pops of color, coziness and amazing details of the bookcase in this 16th century cottage.

Baked Cinnamon Apple Butter French Toast
French toast is my favorite breakfast food. I’m still on the hunt for a good gluten free brioche or challah so that I can stuff it with apple butter, cinnamon-spiced custard, and baked with honey crisp apples to pair with salted maple cream.
A Cozy New England Home
There is something so welcoming about a warm fire and overstuffed furniture. This lovely home sits on Lake Champlain in the Adirondack mountains. I once lived in Plattsburgh, NY which is close by. The winters there do indeed require this warmth.
Craft Night
Later today my daughter in law is hosting craft night. I want to make some Valentine’s for an upcoming party I am attending. I adore these 3 D paper hearts.
In Case You Missed It
I recently announced that I have taken a position on the board of the Society of the Ingalls Family. This non profit is committed to preserving the legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder and that of the Ingalls family. We are also committed to supporting and uplifting the various homesites, museums, organizations, and historians who also share in this common goal.
You can find the Facebook group HERE.
On Wednesday I shared a No Cost Bathroom Refresh.

This Week’s Video
There is an accompanying video which shares the bathroom makeover in more detail as well as some family treasures and Little House memorabilia in our guest room.
If you wish to view the video in a larger format just click on the black box in the lower left hand corner that says Watch on YouTube.
I’ll be back on Tuesday with a lovely 18th century jacket I just finished.

Ooooooh, that French Toast sounds deliciously decadent! I’ll have to figure out a sugar free (or almost) way to make it!
