That’s Amore Over The Top Tablescape

Last week I was a part of an amazing eight-woman team in a table decorating contest. The contest was held to raise funds for the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur in Fort Worth. The Sisters have been a loving fixture in the Fort Worth community since 1873. You can view an amazing video of their work HERE. (Fun Fact, a few years ago the Fashionista lived in an apartment that had once been the Our Lady of Victory academy.) So come along as we create a That’s Amore Over The Top Tablescape!

The table decor began with a basic white tablecloth.

Two red gingham table runners were laid down to add color and designate seating space.

Michele, Sweet Guy’s future mother in law, created this amazing Leaning Tower of Pisa with her cricut.

Next came a rustic charger, followed by plain white plates and lovely flatware. Napkins were made from the same red check fabric and simply gathered with a napkin ring from Hobby Lobby.

Battery operated candles, faux fruit and vines completed the centerpiece.

Looking to Venice for inspiration, the Gondola inspired seat covers were made from cardboard. I called them GUNNdola’s. LOL

Theresa created the red and white poles from large carboard rolls designed to hold fabric.

Gondelier hats and scarves were laid out on each seat.

If you are going to go over the top it’s important to dress for the part.

Some of the gondeliers mugging for the camera. Megan’s Salvador Dali inspired mustache was the best!  I look like I’m ready to break some kneecaps.

The Gondeliers

I asked Meg to “Pisa pose!” (It had to be done.)

Michele outdid herself with delicious “meatballs” (cakeballs) and tomato macarons (they were actually raspberry flavored).

The Competition

I was all abuzz for this sweet bee inspired tablescape.

Lots of love went into this design.

Heart table decor

A pink and green color palette made for a truly cheery table.

These sweet snowmen melted my heart.

A 100 acre wood tablescape featured a gorgeous centerpiece.

The Mardi Gras tablescape was so festive!

A black and gold tablescape was truly elegant.

In the end our Little Italy table took home the coveted grand prize of bragging rights for a year.

That’s Amore!

I have always loved the idea and the look of a mirror over a mirror. I have done this for years.
I also love the mirror you have chosen, its beautiful.
