Hello sweet friends, are you keeping cool? I’ve been working out in the garden and running errands in the early morning hours. Here’s to Friday Favorites Beat The Heat.
Friday Favorites Beat The Heat
I’ve been following the Auto Immune Protocol Diet (AIP) for almost a year now. It has slightly helped ease my Lupus symptoms of joint pain. I do miss eating cold celebration desserts in the summer months and this Strawberry Ice Box Cake is a perfect substitute!
A Coastal Wreath
Earlier this week I washed the front and back doors here at Storybook Cottage and decorated them for the summer. (You’ll see the front entry next Tuesday.) When I attempted to hang up one of last year’s wreaths it got taken down very quickly. As the back door is in the sun for a good six to eight hours a day the faux blooms had truly faded and wilted. I think I might try this Coastal Wreath to see if it will fare better.
Wattle Wattle
You often see wattle fencing in England and France. Learn how to transform branches and twigs to create a beautiful surround that adds such charm to garden beds and borders.
A Coastal Cottage
This charming cottage overlooks the intercoastal waterway. The cool color palette used throughout the home is truly inspiring.
Garden Chandelier
I’ve started to collect ideas for an upcoming bridal shower and bachelorette party that the Fashionista will host here at Storybook Cottage. As many of you know Sweet Guy is engaged and the days are moving swiftly towards the wedding. The Fashionista is to be the maid of honor. I think we will be heading to the thrift stores to look for lampshades to transform for use at the outdoor celebration.
In Case You Missed It
Over On Instagram
This past weekend some dear friends and I attended a beautiful Victorian themed garden wedding. The bride encouraged guests to dress up in pastel turn of the century inspired fashions.
Several of you have sweetly asked for a health update. My jaw is still currently wired. Although it is now held in place with orthodontic rubber bands that I can remove to eat soft foods. Hopefully, the wiring will be removed by the end of July.
Although I have lost quite a bit of weight, I don’t recommend this diet. LOL
My left eye is still being monitored. But it seems to be healing well from the oribital bone being injured in the accident.
Once my mouth can open at a normal width there are four broken teeth that will need crowns. But overall, I am on the road to recovery.
There will be no Friday Favorites next week. We are finally getting our new flooring installed and have a house guest arriving.
I will see you on Tuesday with a fun little post.

Your coastal wreath idea is a pretty one — nice inspiration. And so is that strawberry/banana dessert! I am so glad you are able to at least eat soft foods. I hope the time flies by quickly for getting unwired and a little more back to normal. You are right — it’s a horrible way to lose weight.
Hang in there, my friend!

We will all keep you in our daily prayers regarding your eye!
Ohhh, I want to live in that house! Beats the summer heat in Florida!
