Hello sweet friends! Today kicks off the annual Spring Home Tours hop hosted by my dear friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. You can tour 30 homes over 5 days! Today I will be sharing A Touch Of Green Spring Home Tour. If you are coming over from Stonegable let me say, “Welcome!” Wasn’t Yvonne’s use of organic elements fabulous?
Dining Room
If this is your first visit to Storybook Cottage I am so happy you have come for a visit!
Let’s start the tour in our formal dining area.
As St. Patrick’s Day and Easter are so close together this year a color palette that would work for both was created.
Various shades of green are paired with neutrals and a pop of yellow cheer.
Natural antique linens with creamy Irish lace are such a pretty accent.
Classic spring elements found in the decor closet have been repurposed.
These bunnies were purchased when we lived in Germany 24 years ago.
Classic decor is timeless!
From this viewpoint you catch a glimpe of the living area.
Touch Of Green Spring Home Tour
To the immediate right, is the entry.
Cheery spring elements are grouped together on a tiered tray.
Gracie the doxie always adds a smile to the decor.
The furniture sports white slipcovers perfect for the warmer months.
You can see how the orange brick hearth was transformed with German Schmear HERE.
The mantel is fairly simple this year. A few antique wire baskets decorate the hearth area.
I’m thinking about creating a floral insert for the firebox or maybe even shells for the summer. You can see how the birch inset was made HERE.
Kitchen
The kitchen also carries over the neutral and green theme.
The white bunnies were a dollar spot find last year.
Paper mache eggs are simply decorated with scraps of lace, buttons and paper.
Next week a St. Patrick’s Day tablescape will be created on the kitchen table. This arrangement from a few years ago is still a Pinterest favorite.
I hope you have enjoyed this year’s spring home tour. You can tour this year’s spring garden with Gracie HERE.

It looks lovely and springy, Laura! I love your natural-look bunnies. And the green. You are definitely ready to rock the season!
I rescued my bunnies before the mold people came but I still can’t find my dining table under all the china and other dishes I brought up from the basement before they came. I fear it will be a long time before they all get back down — working one pile at a time, fairly slow, but sure! I long to decorate again!
Laura Ingalls Gunn says
Hi Jeanie, I do hope that you get the entire process finished soon. It must be overwhelming at times! But it’s a good time to admire all of your treasures.

Hi Laura, I’m hopping over from the Tuesday Turn About Party, your home looks beautiful! Everything’s so pretty here… It’s hard to pick a favorite thing, but If I had to pick a fave, it is the way you scrunched up the linen crochet lace edged runner around the bunny vignette that’s on your dining room buffet! So pretty! Happy Spring!
