Hello sweet friends, I hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend. I am trying to overcome this continuing heatwave by thinking of all things autumnal. I’ve been preparing for an upcoming Fall Home Tour. I can’t wait for you to see Storybook Cottage in all of its fall finery. So let’s see what’s inspiring me this week with some Sunday Smiles 109.
Sunday Smiles 109
I am currently drawn to rooms that are warm, cozy, and even a bit moody. This kitchen made my heart go pitter pat.
Sheet Pan Balsamic Chicken
This one pan meal went together so quickly and tasted so yummy!
Fall Tablescape
I took bits and pieces of this lovely tablescape when decorating my own dining area. I’m definitely drawn to wine and burgundy tones this season.
Pure Charm
This lovely layered bedroom is for a child, but I think many of the gorgeous elements used in this room work for everyone.
What To Watch
Way back in 2013, while living in Phoenix, I met Barbara Hinske at a local bloggers gathering. I have long admired her for many things. She amazingly has written over 20 books. (I even still have the original email she sent me with great tips on writing my own book.)
Her recent book, Guiding Emily, has been made into a new movie. It will debut on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, this Friday, September 8th at 9/8c.
Now here’s where it gets really interesting.
My sweet friend, Alexia Gordon, has also written several books in the Gethsemane Brown Mystery Series. Her most recent book, Murder In G Major, has also been adapted and will premiere on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries on Friday, September 22 at 9/8c.
I am just over the moon with happiness for both of these two wonderfully talented ladies.
These Flowers Are Paper?!?
This gorgeous bouquet would last all season long.
Slowing Down
As you may recall I took a good portion of time off in August and at first it was very strange. Then it became wonderful. I am hoping to keep some of the ideas shared in this smart article on slowing down at the forefront of my days.
In Case You Missed It
It was a busy week here on DTA. Three posts, chock full of goodness, were featured.

For those who observe the holiday, have a very Happy Labor Day!
I’ll be back on Wednesday with a glorious travel themed post.

Laura, it’s Tuesday, but I love your Sunday Smiles. It’s a rabbit hole I enjoy going down.
I hope your August rejuvenated you, and that you find pleasure in slowing down permanently. I wish you the best in managing your lupus. I know two people personally who are living with it and its complications, both full-time working women. One is only 38 and has been diagnosed since she was 18. You are warriors.
