Hello sweet friends! It is finally cooling off at Storybook Cottage so I have begun to think about creating a fall garden. Recently, Mr. Decor and I visited Niagara Falls. Most of the activities surrounding the falls can be done in one day. So we traveled nearby the falls to see some really Beautiful Gardens In Ontario Canada.
Beautiful Gardens In Ontario Canada
Directly across from Horseshoe Falls is Queen Victoria Park. It is open 24 hours a day and is free to visit.
I captured this image early one morning on our way to board the Niagara Falls boat ride.
The grounds are not large, but all of it is beautifully landscaped.
Floral Showhouse
Also in close proximity to the falls is the Floral Showhouse. The admission price was included in the pass we purchased.
You can tour this charming garden in less than an hour.
It features three main display greenhouses.
As well as a wonderful miniature village collection.
Butterfly Conservatory
On our way to the Butterfly Conservatory we stopped along the Niagara Parkway to view the Floral Clock. It is free to view.
The Butterfly Conservatory is one of the largest glass-enclosed butterfly conservatories in North America. The admission to visit was also included in the pass we purchased.
There are over 2,000 different species of butterflies fluttering freely throughout the lovely winding pathways featuring lush vegetation and trickling waterfalls.
You can see a reel of beautiful butterflies in action on my Instagram account HERE.
Botanical Garden
The Botanical Gardens are located in the same location as the Butterfly Conservatory. It is free to visit.
The formal parterre garden.
There are close to 2,500 rose bushes.
On the other side there are several peaceful walking trails.
If you want to see everything I would plan for at least two hours.
Niagara-On-The-Lake
The last garden park is located in the truly charming town of Niagara-On-The-Lake. It is a short car ride from the falls.
The park is directly across from the Prince of Wales Hotel. This gorgeous historic hotel was built in 1864.
If I ever find myself in this charming town again I will definitely have afternoon tea there.
The main street is full of charming stores and restaurants. It features gorgeous garden beds along the sidewalk.
We spent quite a bit of time at the BeauChapeau Hat Shop.
They make glorious hats for men, women and children.
There are also several fabulous restaurants on the main street.
We stopped by the Budapest Bakeshop as my friends Mandie and Eva said that their sandwiches were absolutely delicious. They were indeed so good!
Mr. Decor and I also opted to share an original Chimney Cake. It was scrumptious. If I ever go back I will try some of the other flavored versions.
Last fall I took a fascinating voyage on the Queen Mary. I met so many wonderful people in the Ahoy Vintage Cruises group. It truly was the trip of a lifetime. When the Canadians learned that we were coming into town for a visit they drove in from various locations to gather at Bistro Six One. It was such a fun evening! Many thanks to Mandie, Melanie, Eva, Nick, Dean and Geoff for such a wonderful memory.
I’ll be back on Sunday with some more Decor To Adore.

Laura, I spent a lot of time pouring over the pictures of the gardens. And, what a charming town. My mother’s family came from Ontario by the Georgian Bay. I’m going to use the photograph of the circle garden to put in a circular garden on one of the empty lots I have here. I have all the stones and bricks needed. Didn’t you just love the sculptures of the children playing in the water at the pond? Those are delightful. Next summer, my yard will have a little bit of your trip included.
