Earlier this week I was remembering a cartoon from my childhood. In rewatching Chicken Little I had to chuckle that the 1940s animated films message still rings true. If you haven’t seen it, several farm yard animals often meet to discuss everything wrong with the world. They are led astray by Chicken Little who follows signs straight into Foxy Loxy’s cave. A later scene shows a now pleasingly plump Foxy Loxy stating you shouldn’t believe everything you see. I know our society is now moving straight towards pushing gift giving merchandise but I still firmly want to be thankful first. So here’s to Sunday Smiles Turkey Lurkey.
Sunday Smiles Turkey Lurkey
I love this vintage inspired Thanksgiving table setting by Follow The Yellow Brick Home.
Pretzel Salad
It’s been years since I’ve had Jello Pretzel salad which truthfully I consider more of a dessert. This year Sweet Guy’s roommate, Vikas, will be celebrating his very first American Thanksgiving with us. I plan to make all the classics.
Clever Clings
I always see various window clings at the dollar store and never know what one would do with them. I adore these place cards.
NO vember
I am one who always says YES to everything. Often to my own detriment. Recently, with the care required after Mr. Decor’s accident I’ve said NO much more and it’s been so much better for my stress level. November and December is like a two month Super Bowl for designers. I work from dawn until well past dusk everyday. So I liked this article about saying NO with grace. Please be advised the author does use a bit of coarse language in the article.
Chicken Wire
I thought this idea was such a clever way to decorate a mantle. You could use the technique in many ways.
I always love getting a notice that Susan Branch has put up a new post. I can’t wait to make her Tea Cake and loved the sweet simplicity of these place cards.
I’ll be back on Friday to kick off my Historical Holiday series. I hope that you will join me.
There will be a Thanksgiving project as well as a delicious recipe and decor.
See you Friday!

Don’t you just love Susan Branch? We got to meet her in Austin on one of her book tours . I think it was in 2016. She was so nice & so much fun! I have read & collected almost all of her books. It was good to see you again at the picnic on Saturday. I get so envious every time a new event is announced as I want to do them ALL, but it’s just not possible!
