Hello sweet friends! Welcome to the March edition of the Pinterest Challenge. This monthly event is hosted by the amazing Cindy of County Road 407. If you are coming over from White Arrows Home let me say, “Welcome to Storybook Cottage”. Kristin’s Easter centerpiece was fabulous! I adore the jadeite and rustic bunny. Here at DTA today’s post features Happy Spring Decor In The Kitchen.
Happy Spring Decor In The Kitchen
This month the challenge was to create a charming spring centerpiece. Our lovely inspiration photo comes from Suzy of Worthing Court.
The image features:
- A tiered tray
- Burlap runner
- Straw placemats
- White dishes
- Green dishes
- Nest
- Topiary
- A small pitcher
- Greenery
- Mini birdhouse
- White rabbit
I think perhaps Suzy and I have very similar tastes. With the exception of two dollar spot items, everything else was already waiting in my decor closet.
The Centerpiece
After laying down an antique linen table runner and the stacks of dishes my attention turned to the tiered tray.
Faux greenery was placed in key areas similar to the inspiration photo.
I didn’t have a mini birdhouse. But the little house (center, top tray) was found in the Target Bullseye Playground area of my local store. It had similar lines and is perfect for the season. The two white ceramic bunnies (bottom tray) came from there as well.
Grandma Mary’s silver soap dish holds mini eggs. The silver egg cup was a christening gift for Sweet Guy. Both were left tarnished as the tone blended in better.
Once the Pinterest Challenge photos had been taken a few things were switched up.
We enjoyed this tablescape for our St. Patrick’s Day dinner.
The New Nook
This is the first peek I have shown of our new breakfast nook area. For the past few months, I have been writing a weekly Kitchen Renovation post.
The shelf was found at a local salvage shop. It came from a 100-year-old home in Fort Worth.
Mr. Decor filled in all the holes then gave it a good sanding. It was then painted Alabaster by Sherwin Williams and a grey glaze was added.
I am so excited to use this shelf for seasonal decor in the kitchen area.
This decor truly puts a spring in my step!
This post was written in memory of two very lovely ladies: Paula of Sweet Pea and Michelle of The Painted Hinge. These wonderful women were contributors to the Pinterest Challenge for the past few years. But more importantly, both of these sweet souls were my friends. They are and will continue to be greatly missed.
Up next is Amber from Follow The Yellow Brick Home. You will adore her spring decor!
I’ll see you on Friday with a fun spring craft.
Laura

I like your tiered tray arrangement, Laura. It’s not nearly so cluttered as a lot of tiered trays I see. It works! Well!

I studied that photo with the newly painted bricks and wowza, I think I’d be sleeping in there! It’s seriously the most beautiful white kitchen I’ve seen. So much character and uniqueness. I LOVE IT! And I can see how your decor is putting a spring in your step because I’m over here jumping for joy at how cute everything looks. You created a fantastic tablescape for both St. Patty’s Day and all of spring. What does your family think? Planning a party?! Glad you got to join in this month. pinned

Such a pretty centerpiece and from every angle too. I’m curious about your chandelier. Is that a new addition for your remodel? I’m looking for something very much like that and haven’t been able to find one.

Laura, your spring tiered tray looks so fresh and pretty. Love the little bunnies. And that antique shelf on your wall is amazing! What a great find. I, too, am so sad about the loss of Paula and Michelle. I was in several groups with both of them and they were such lovely, talented ladies.
