A Jubbly Celebration

Congratulations to Queen Elizabeth on her Platinum JUBILLEE Celebration. She has now sat on the throne of England for 70 years.  It is tradition that commemorative china is produced. I had a good giggle over the JUBBLY Celebration misprint. How I would love to have a plate or cup from that hilarious line.

Queen Elizabeth 1953 Coronation

I’ve written many, many posts over the years about the Royal family. Here are a few about the Queen.

What a lovely Sunday Smiles! Jubbly – that’s hilarious! I read an article that Jackie was not thrilled with her wedding gown arrangements (that apparently Joseph Kennedy had made), but the gown was absolutely gorgeous. Cheers to surviving another week of renovations, Laura.

Rita and Laura, the information that Joseph Kennedy made the wedding arrangements for the wedding illustrates how controlling he was. Boy, I hope the company that made the mistake with their souvenir china line sells a lot of souvenirs. because of the funny misspelling. I’ve read that there were companies that actually went out of business for an event being canceled. Edward VIII’s abdication. Heavens, I almost did a Jubbly thing. I first typed Edward VIII’s abduction.
Laura, Last week’s Sunday Smiles was so good that it is still open on my desktop.

Pinned that recipe – yum and it was so cute. Can a cake be cute? And that wedding dress was amazing! It would be so fashionable even now. Thanks for the smiles! We are warming up this week! Have a good one.

I just read The New York Times article about Ann Lowe. Obviously, Joseph Kennedy thought it was okay to use Ann Lowe as a token rather than use a Parisian dressmaker as Jackie desired. But for Jackie’s parents’ housekeeper or butler, to tell Ann Lowe to use the servants’ entrance rather than the main door when she delivered the dresses just about says it all.
I look forward to Sunday Smiles, Laura.

I’m hoping to nab some sort of Jubilee souvenir thing this year — she’s so amazing. I’m guessing you saw the commemorative photo for this year . She looked fabulous in that green suit with those red boxes in front of her! Thanks for all the wonderful links, as always!
