Hello sweet friends. How are you in these last few fleeting days of spring? It’s been a hive of activity this week here at Storybook Cottage. I keep reminding myself to stop and breathe. Look around at Sunday Smiles Unexpected Beauty.
Unexpected Wallpaper
I recently purchased some vintage wallpaper at an estate sale. It’s not enough to do a room in but I adore the ideas that were shared in this post about unexpected ways to use wallpaper.
Peach Delight
The peaches are just starting to come into season here. This peach crisp is just delicious.
Dreaming of Travel
Have you begun to once again dream of traveling? Several of the hotels featured in this article would be such fun to stay at!
Touches of Gingham
Textile designer Heather Taylor has added touches of gingham in every single room of her home. Interestingly enough some looks are quite masculine.
Sunday Smiles Unexpected Beauty
During the pandemic, I quit going to the salon. Which meant I stopped highlighting my hair. It’s completely now back to its natural state, I had forgotten just how DARK brown it is. Other women have discovered another type of unexpected beauty.
The annual summer home tours begin tomorrow.
I’ll be back on Tuesday to share my home.
Laura
In Case You Missed It
If you are a fan of Little House on the Prairie you may recognize what a truly important moment this was.

Lots of fun blog to check out this week. I really enjoyed the one on the silver hair. I used colours years ago for fun but didn’t have grey to cover. Still not a lot now in my retirement years. I take after my mom I guess. But my maternal grandmother went grey young. She coloured and permed her hair until it was wiry and dull but still wouldn’t quit. I never knew her real hair colour until she was very sick and couldn’t colour it anymore. One day while I was visiting her, I offered to comb her hair out. It was now a pure beautiful white and curled naturally around my finger as I cimbed it into place. My Mom and I never had her hair but it was a lesson in appreciating and using what you have.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Thank you for sharing. ❤

Hi Laura — lovely links. Oh, how nice to let the hair go and it is still dark! Not like mine, alas, so still using the color. At some point I will need to evolve into my age, but I’m not ready!
