Creating Victorian Découpage Eggs
I was inspired to create an Easter tree centerpiece by the amazing author and illustrator Tasha Tudor.
The découpaged eggs were first hung on some lovely cherry blossom branches in the breakfast nook.
The centerpiece was then transferred to the formal dining table. It is set with Eric’s grandmother’s Desert Rose dishes.
We are having a double celebration as our daughter’s birthday is on Easter this year.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Your eggs are lovely, Laura, and they look so pretty hanging on your cherry blossoms. As you probably know from my “rabbits in the house” post, my mom and I used to make blown-out and non-blown-out eggs for our egg tree. Apart from the ones I painted this year (not hanging) I haven’t done new eggs for the tree in ages, though I’m contemplating adding a hanger to one of the painted eggs and adding it to the tree. These are especially pretty. I have TONS of original Victorian scrapbooking ephemera from an antique scrapbook sent to me years ago that was falling apart. I’ve used it in other art and now you are inspiring me to use it on eggs!
Happy Easter, dear friend!

I love these. They have such a fun antique feel. I remember the diorama sugared eggs as a child. These are magical just like those were. Darling. Have a blessed Easter. Have a wonderful celebration.

Oh they are delightful! I love how you used Tasha Tudor once again as inspiration and how you are passing on this lovely Easter tradition and art to your readers! The eggs are so pretty and look lovely hanging from the branches.
My birthday was on Wed. and my son’s was last Sunday. I have had 3 Easter b-days in my life, “Birthsters” (as we call them) , and I looked up future Easter dates to find that my son will have a couple and I will have one more in the next decade as well. We called this whole week a “Birthster” week since both of our birthdays fell within Holy Week. It is always such a special time! Happy Birthday to your daughter!
Thank you so much for joining the hop. Have a blessed Good Friday and happy Easter weekend!

It’s sad that the Fashionista got Covid, but I’m sure that you are glad to be able to celebrate with her on Sunday. DH’s birthday sometimes falls on Easter, and DD’s is at the end of this month – I remember that the last meal I had before I went to the hospital to have her was Easter leftovers.
A month of cake, since they tend to hang on a bit in such small families! I’m sure with SG around you might not have such a problem.
Happy Easter – may this be the last pandemic one!
