Hello sweet friends! These past two weeks have been a very difficult time for our family. As many of you know my dear cousin Carolyn and Mr. Decor’s grandmother Joyce both now have heavenly addresses. We are also dealing with some very heartbreaking dishonesty that almost made me lose my faith in humanity. But various small acts of kindness that were unexpected have filled my heart once again. I know as a nation we are also experiencing a time of great difficulty and uncertainty. But I hope that you remember that if each of us shares a small act of kindness towards others we will be ok. Sunday Smiles Kindness Makes All The Difference.
Yarn Pumpkins
I have a few faux pumpkins that are a bit past their prime. I think that this fun and quick update is just the thing!
Nature Table
I loved the collection of ideas that Unskinny Boppy gathered when setting out to create a nature table for her homeschool. I can see using some of them in my cabinet of curiosities.
Brown Butter Cake with Maple Frosting
This Brown Butter Cake is a win-win! It looks absolutely darling and sounds delicious.
Star and Moon Garland
I love this garland tutorial. While I don’t do spooky in my Halloween decor I must admit that the tree is pretty amazing!
Sunday Smiles Kindness Makes All The Difference
I have previously talked about my love of Instagram sites such as Upworthy and the Good News Movement. No matter what the news may tell us there is still goodness and kindness in the world. That is the world I want to live in. How about you?
Another site I love is Dad Patrol. Recently an interaction occurred between strangers. When I read the story I was so filled with HOPE. Even while going through a time of complete darkness a dad and his kids shared love and light with a complete stranger. The end result was beauty all around.
Carol and Jeanie thank you so much for being shining lights that illuminated my dark world this week.
Sweet friends let us all look for ways to brighten someone else’s day this week.

I love the story of the little boy with cancer and all the goodness that followed. Such a great post today. I know how kind and generous you are, so it hurts to think that anyone could be unkind to you. I am so sorry that you have suffered such tragic losses these last few weeks.

So sorry you are dealing with some terrible nastiness as you are recovering from two painful losses of loved ones. There will always be those who want to hurt others. But rest assured there are good people and caring people and thoughtful people. They aren’t always on the news or obvious in our day to day situations. They are usually found working away without being seen or heard. Remember, the meek shall inherit the earth. {{{Hugs}}} Hope this week is better! 🙂

Big love to you, my friend. Oh, weeks like that are grim and heartbreaking and I hope you can wrap yourself in the love of your family, your friends, your bloggies and your sweet doxie. Thank you for taking the time to share the beauty and joy here on the blog.

Dear Laura, I am so sorry for your loss. It is so difficult to say goodbye to those we love. And, I am especially sorry that you have been dealt the blow of dishonesty. So heartbreaking. Hang on and keep the faith. Love and good always wins.
Many blessings, my friend. ❤

I sit and think, what can I type? How sad it is to be grieving for loved ones, for our country and for yourself as you are victimized by dishonesty. Oh the sinking feeling in the stomach many times a day! But I’m sure that Mr D, the Fashionista and SG are there for you. Better times must come for all of us!
And if your dishonest person is a tradesman or company, remember YELP! Let them know a scathing review is in their future!

I am so sorry for your losses and your hard experience. But I appreciate your advice to share kindness. We never know who it will touch and who needs it most.

Always be humble and kind!!! Time will make you feel better about the dishonesty, but you will never get “over” it. Sorry, that’s what I have been through and believe. But there are good people out there–quite a few and you will move on.

So sorry to hear about your loss. And the hurt of dishonesty. Just remember what GOD promises…..sow a good seed you get a good seed, sow a bad seed you get a bad seed. You be kind and let GOD do his promise. Prayers and hugs.
