Hello sweet friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. On my weekly trip to the grocery store, I spied pumpkin spice everything. My first thought was just “NO!” It’s still too hot. It’s still summer. I do long for the cooler days of fall. I guess everyone is experiencing Sunday Smiles The In Between.
Sunday Smiles The In Between
Decor that would work well for both late summer and early fall is this Boho Wooden Wreath.
Yes To Cake
It was just Mr. Decor and me on hand to celebrate my birthday earlier this week. But we both demanded cake for the occasion. One word: DELICIOUS!
The Summer House
Oh, what a visual treat this Maine house is! I love the blue pantry and the purple bedroom equally.
Lunch with Susan Branch and Beatrix Potter
Earlier this week I had lunch with Susan Branch along with a few of her other girlfriends. I ordered a sandwich from Panera that was delivered to my front door while she took us to England via Zoom. If you have never visited Susan’s blog let me warn you that you may be entering a rabbit hole of delight.
Miniature Bliss
You must see these absolutely darling, yet biologically accurate, sculptures of animals by artist Fanni Sandor.
I’ll be easing into fall decor on Tuesday.

When I saw the picture of the white house on Instagram, I thought that it had to be Susan Branch’s home! Don’t you just love her? A few years ago, she did a book tour and was in Austin. My sister and I went to it and she is just delightful! I have just about all her books and have pre-ordered the new Christmas one.

I watched that too! Wasn’t it delightful to travel to England with Susan and hear her voice! I saved the link — I might have to watch again!
I am SO not ready for autumn yet. So, thanks for keeping a little summer here. I’m starting to see a lot of early pumpkins and fallish things and I know I will welcome them in good time. But right now I’m at the lake in the dark (I can’t see my keyboard so excuse any typos!), listening to night boats go by and waves lapping. No, not ready for fall!

Laura, thanks so much for the Susan Branch link. I have been a fan of hers for years, but never thought to check out her website! Talk about going down a rabbit hole, indeed! Just love her quotes — photos — everything!

We will always prepare for the next season or holiday relatively far ahead–that’s something I learned in the caveman days of blogging! No worries…I love to se what’s new.
Happy Birthday! Now, did you or the Mr. make the cake? Looks delish!
Have a great week, Laura!
