Sunday Smiles A Virtual Vacation

Hello dear friends. I hope you are all happy and healthy. I am currently sticking very close to home. This is difficult for a happy traveler such as myself but I’m thankful for Sunday Smiles A Virtual Vacation.

I’d love to be a houseguest at Paula Sutton’s countryside home.

If you are like me and missing France you can still begin planning a trip. There are several castles located within driving distance from Paris. Chateau de Chenonceau is on my list. Which castle is your favorite?

Summer Camp

Every single room in this former summer camp delights me. The kitchen is a dream! I also need to train some vine against my brick wall.

Summer Cottage

Dick Cavett is selling his Shingle Style Summer “Cottage” in Montauk. Having traveled to this charming coastal town last summer I am all in. But I’ll need 150 or so friends to kick in a bit too. I am in love with the kitchen and master bathroom!

A Short Drive

After visiting Montauk we can head over to Nantucket. Jane Ellsworth’s home is absolutely charming. She has the Rose Tarlow Nantucket Table in her entry.

Back in 2010, I watched Somethings Gotta Give. I became obsessed with Diane Keaton’s bedroom side table! I even included it in one of my sketches in a drawing and rendering class. Sigh. I STILL want that table!

Chateau de Chenonceau is so beautiful. When I visited the people in the surrounding area placed huge beautiful flower arrangements through out the building it was stunning. The gardens are perfect. The kitchen was so interesting . I loved every inch of the place. I have been to many beautiful places Chenonceau is a dream. The women who shaped it into what it is did truly love it.

S o true about Chenonceau – the flowers in all the rooms were spectacular! It’s a magical place and I saw it in winter when it was chilly and rainy!

What fun links. Like you, I am a happy traveler trapped in a box with no traveling allowed. Crazy! Hope it ends soon! Diana

Laura, that is a super cute table… I can see why you fell in love with it!!! I have those two drum tables and I’ve always loved round tables. If I could swap out our antique dining table, I’d bring a round marble topped table with bulbous base… Have a photo in my decorating binder for over 20 years… <3 Love the places you've found for virtual visits!

Happy slo-stitching (funny that you call it that, I just think of it as hand sewing…) and your Gracie looks happy to cuddle. Yoda, he'd be happy to cuddle for about a minute and then he'd jump off. Lol!!

    Happy weekend,
    Barb 🙂
