Summer Home Tour 2020

The days have become warmer here in Texas. Summer is almost upon us. The decor has been lightened up the decor here at Storybook Cottage. My friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life is once again hosting her fabulous blog hop and it was perfect timing. This is the Summer Home Tour 2020.

If you are coming over from Duke Manor Farm may I say “Welcome!”. Laura’s summer living decor is always a delight.

Summer Home Tour 2020

We’ll begin the tour at our front entry. My son recently completed his senior year of high school. As we could only celebrate at home I took the opportunity to incorporate his school colors of blue and gold.

You can see more of the celebratory front porch decor HERE.

Inside the blue and gold theme was softly continued.

The Living Room

A light color palette of blue, turquoise, cream, and gold is perfect for summer.

Dining Area

On the last day of school, the table was set for a festive breakfast.

Gold tassels were tied around the napkins as a nod to graduation.

Kitchen

The next day was originally the date set for graduation. Ian was allowed to invite 3 friends over for brunch. All the kids had previously been safely sheltering at home for weeks.

Ian's Graduation Day

While some might think: “This is a bit much.”

When compared to missing the major milestone of a graduation ceremony this mama thought it was just right.

This festive meal was also really delicious!

A Happy Reality Check

While the house may look pretty the photographer was wearing ratty slippers.

I hope you enjoyed this year’s summer tour.

Up next on the tour is House By Hoff. April truly captures summer’s glorious color.

I always enjoy your tour and if you think those are ratty slippers, you don’t know ratty! Love the graduation table and that pretty little chest in the hall. I’m going with shells this summer too. But you’re rocking it with the aqua/turquoise! Lovely, Laura.

You did a great job of making the best of an unfortunate situation for your graduate. The table was pretty.

Great shell garland on the mantel as well as the painting.

Gracie is always fun to see. Nothing better than a Doxie!

Love the “graduation” celebrations you did for Ian. So perfect since this was such a bad situation. Your coastal decor just always seems to fit your home so well. Beautifully done for summer. Thanks for joining the tours again this season.

Laura, your beach decor makes me homesick for an ocean get-away, even though I may never get on a plane again!
Your graduation breakfast looked so appealing and I’m sure Ian and his guests enjoyed it very much. Nothing is “too much”
when celebrating such a special event!

Beautiful space Laura! Love all of the coastal touches. And congratulations to your grad!! I feel so bad for all of the disruptions to graduations ceremonies this year but looks like you were still able to celebrate.

I have been following Laura for ages and she is top notch with decorating! She does so much herself, too. I remember her painting a room which would have had me running for the hills. The delicious meals and table setting show what a huge heart she has and how she values family.

Thanks for sharing her home. Love both you Laura’s!!

Hi Laura, I love all the blues you’re using throughout the house! The coastal touches are spot on.
Congratulations to your graduate! My son also graduated from HS this year. He only got an online ceremony. 🙁 Oh well, without a doubt, their online ceremonies will be long remembered!
