I’m sitting in my kitchen. The sun is not quite up yet. It’s Leap Day. One entire extra day. I still feel a bit behind. It’s been a very long week searching for college scholarships. A long week finding and printing out information for my son. Helping him with a mountain of paperwork. We’re not close to done. But today is an extra day. I now have time to write Sunday Smiles Leap Into Spring.
Jack and Jill
I love a bold use of color. Dimples and Tangles recently shared her daughter and son’s bathroom. It truly made my heart happy.
The Bees Knees
If you spent any time with me in real life you would quickly see that I try to avoid using plastic as much as I can. I’ve had my eye on Beeswax Food Wraps but they are a bit pricey. The Art of Doing Stuff recently made her own and made me think that I can too. After all, I have TONS of fabric scraps.
Sunday Smiles Leap Into Spring
I always think GREEN in the months of March. New buds and Saint Patrick’s Day. I adore how Wilderflower Home took an old dry bar (Remember those?) and turned it into a charming reading nook.
What To Watch
You can thank my longtime friend and reader, Kelley, for putting Escape to the Chateau on my radar. Now I will tell you it took a bit of a hunt on how to watch this fabulous show. There are just three shows each season and six seasons total. Some episodes can be found on various PBS stations, Youtube and Daily Motion. But I promise it is worth the hunt!
Focus On The Heart
The next few weeks are going to be VERY BUSY. As I mentioned my son and I still have mountains of paperwork to complete for various scholarships. I need to order his graduation photos and announcements. Spring break is next week. We have narrowed down his college choices to three and we’ll be visiting each campus one more time to then make the decision.
Then I’ll be on a plane to Nashville at the end of the month. Excitement awaits!
So, I won’t be writing many posts. Perhaps I can squeak in a Saturday Smile or two. I can’t even promise that I will be on Instagram. I am simply going to focus on the heart. Live in the moment. Cherish this last wee bit of time I have with Sweet Guy.
You see I never have quite figured out how to do everything well. Does anyone else struggle with having it all?
Swoonworthy recently wrote a post on The Trouble With Instagram and hit the nail on the head asking where is the value. I personally hope she never stops blogging. Her kitchen is just one reason why.
Until next time…leaps of love,
Laura

Laura,
Wait till you read this: I am currently on Episode 10 in Season 3 of Escape to the Château DIY! Daily Motion on YouTube seems to possess the most episodes! In Season 3, many! more! château owners are also featured! It’s soooo dreamy!
*hugs* and happy March (59th birthday month for me!),
Kelley~

As I am writing my first book and reading up on the publishing industry, I see a lot of advice that no one can do all the social media outlets. The “experts” usually say to spend the most time with the one you like best and the one you get the most interaction on. I agree with what the post you linked to says.
I usually also follow people on only one outlet. If I follow a blog, FB, Instagram, and Twitter of one person, they usually overlap and say the same things, or everything points back to the blog, which is my first choice anyway.
Family is always priority, so enjoy this time with your son wile you have it.

Good post, Laura. Love the reading hook and that kitchen. Good luck with the paperwork. It’s so big, and I still remember it vividly. As a matter of fact , I just finished a 15 yr consecutive of completing FAFSA applications for my 2 girls and one SIL a few years ago. I thought they were going to be professional students but they are, in fact, all self-sufficient professionals now. It’s worth every ounce of effort! Happy March!

I think you DO do everything well. And that is because you are wise enough to know when you might not be able to (like write two or three posts a week) and say “no.” Living life is what we’re here for, Laura. I can tell you know that. So do your friends. Have a glorious time savoring these moments.

Laura, this was a wonderful post and I read it twice. I thank you for the link to Swoonworthy and I certainly agree with her. I enjoy your blog and admire your talent. And, I can see and appreciate the work you put into it while taking care of your family.
Wishing you a lovely week.
