So… it’s already the ORC Week 2 The Bad Gas Station Bathroom.
ORC Week 2 The Bad Gas Station Bathroom
My friends if you asked me about the progress I made during week one of the challenge the image would be of me standing smack dab in the middle of “Crickets Avenue”.
But I can explain.
You see I had a houseguest for a week…
…and it was also Round Top antique week.
I also had two papers to write and a test to study for.
The class is “Interdisciplinary Research Process and Theory”.
I know, right?
Then it was my daughters birthday.
She’s a magical fairy angel who wanted clown cupcakes.
UPDATE: Because several of you have asked this is the recipe I used. As the Fashionista has a gluten allergy I eliminated the cookies underneath the ice cream.
Nada
So I did what any self-respecting DIY designer and blogger would do with a room to finish.
Absolutely nothing.
I instead chose to LIVE life.
But next week will be better because this past Monday, on our 18th wedding anniversary, Mr. Decor and I went out….. and bought a new sink.
Which pretty much solidifies his role as a prince and a promise that there will be no “chirping crickets” next week.
Challenge indeed.

Sounds like you had a wonderful week! I had to laugh at your Crickets Ave. sign. I've stumbled onto that street this week, too!

Now that sounds like an anniversary gift we'd come up with. LOL
Love those clown cupcakes!

I don't blame you for just going at the things in life that you have to take care of. The project will get done and you'll be happy in the end I'm quite sure. You do have a lot piled on you especially with taking college courses. Those clown cupcakes are adorable- I'm sure your daughter was thrilled with them! I would so love to go to Round Top and walk through and see all the vendor's displays. I bet it's overwhelming and so tempting to buy tons of stuff! With the price of quality bathroom fixtures I don't blame you for buying a sink on or for your anniversary! I've accepted terribly romantic items like this too because I've had to be very cost conscious with our home since it was a money pit for many years.

Well, my sweetest Laura, you haven't thought about your bathroom yet, but it was such a busy week, this last of yours, so be indulgent with yourself, darling, you've made so many things !!!
Oh, I was forgetting to tell you how much I love your clown cupcakes, Happy belated Birthday to your wonderful angel too !
Enjoy the remainder of your week, my lovely,
sending much love to you

Adorable!!! Love your rationale!

The cupcakes are just the thing for a princess that I know.
Every once in a while we have to give ourselves a pass to go Nowhere and do Nothing. It's not like you've spent the past weeks lounging on a chaise longue and eating macrons!

Happy 18th Anniversary to you and your Prince! Good luck with the bathroom redo.
The Round Top adventure looked so wonderful, as did the Magnolia Farms visit. You are such a busy lady, but I'm so glad that you're living LIFE!

Too funny! I may have to steal your Crickets Ave sign…it would come in handy some times… And the clown cupcakes are too cute 🙂 And who wouldn't rather be antique shopping? And I'm sure the bathroom will still get done!

I think you are a very wise woman. 🙂

I love it! You are cracking me up! We used to live in Texas, so I understand the need to take a break for Round Top. We have our own version of it here called Brimfield, but luckily the next show isn't until the weekend after the Reveal. Can't wait to see what you do next week!
Casey FitzGerald says
Your week sounded awesome and that frog photo made me laugh out loud (so cute). I can't wait to see the new sink 😉
Kim Young says
Your week sounded so much better than mine! And yes, any self-respecting DIY Blogger would live life with all of that going on, then bust her butt the following one and end up making it look easy! I'm looking forward to following you on this adventure!

I've been doing a lot of nothing myself for the past couple of weeks too. Pinched a nerve in my upper back while preparing my little raised beds out back and planting a few things. All I did for a week after that was lie around with a heating pad. I am back to normal this week (for me anyway), so I have no excuse except living life. Sometimes, that is just what is needed, a break from everything except for simply living life. Have a beautiful, blessed and fun week end!
