Whats In Your Lunchbox

Today I embark on yet another semester of school. Last Thursday I invited a friend and classmate over for lunch to make sure that we were actually ready to inflict such torture upon ourselves once again. Whats In Your Lunchbox? Little Laura Ingalls (brunette with pink yarn bows) enjoying kindergarten lunch at Lincoln School. Whats In Your Lunchbox I met Karen last semester in my CAD (computer-aided drafting) class. We bonded due to the fact that we were: Two middle-aged women ... View the Post

Over Embellished Yes It Is Possible

Although the subject matter is a month late (or perhaps just eleven months EARLY) I thought you might get a kick out of a recent crafting session I experienced. I bought this advent calendar during the after Christmas sales. It was my intention to give it a bit more "pizazz". Over Embellished Yes It Is Possible.  Over Embellished Yes It Is Possible Out came the scrapbooking paper, embellishments, and glue. I spent HOURS on the layout. (When it is actually Christmas time I will write a ... View the Post

Pes (Peace) to the World

This post was inspired by six-year-old Sweet Boy and his wish for Pes (Peace) to the World. The Drum Major Instinct If you want to be important—wonderful.  If you want to be recognized—wonderful. She said that she had a $300 budget and asked if I could I help. She needed a Sewing Room Makeover. Sewing Room Makeover At the consultation I immediately knew it would be a fun job, but very challenging. She had several knick-knacks that were very precious to her and they would all have to be incorporated in the room ... View the Post

Before and Afters of 2008

Rhoda at Southern Hospitality is hosting a Before and After Party. I thought I would show a few of my favorites~ and yours. Before and Afters of 2008. Back when I first began blogging I found a set of floral prints at Marshall's for a great deal. But they seemed a little plain.  I decided to alter them up a bit. They now hang in my laundry room.  Before and Afters of 2008 Here's the other print. You can also catch a glimpse of the curtains I made in this ... View the Post

Happy New Year Part 2

Should auld acquaintances be forgotten? I think not! I leave my Christmas decorations up until after January 6th. It likes to mingle with my New Year's Eve decor. Happy New Year Part 2. Happy New Year Part 2 January 6th marks the Epiphany~when the Magi arrived at the stable. (It is also the 12th day of Christmas, 12 Drummers Drumming...). Leaving up our Christmas decor is a very European way to celebrate, it also makes my German Lutheran Grandmother happy and helps to keep the January ... View the Post
