Wayfaring Wednesday Cool Cozumel

I am trying to think cool thoughts while the thermometer explodes. Given that I still have my hands full while Sweet Boy recovers from his recent surgery I decided to repost this oldie but goodie. It originally was featured in March of 2008 where it was viewed by a whopping 1 person. Here is Wayfaring Wednesday Cool Cozumel. Mr. Décor and I had not had an ALONE vacation in over 10 years. For our 10th anniversary we went on a cruise. Our second port stop was the island of Cozumel (Mexico). You ... View the Post

I Hate My Toaster or Oh So Cozy

Sometimes a girl just doesn’t know what to title her post!!! I Hate My Toaster or Oh So Cozy. I Hate My Toaster or Oh So Cozy Our toaster gets used every day, so it is always out. I have a love/hate relationship with my toaster. I love that it works. I hate that no matter how hard I try, parts of it won’t come clean. Every so often I cheat on my toaster by perusing the Dualit web page.   I think I have mentioned Sweet Boy is getting braces, the Fashionista is in college and she needs ... View the Post

She Sells Seashells Stockings

Christmas time in Phoenix is always warm. The thought of heavy velvets and wools can get a bit stifling. I’ve been trying to think cool thoughts and work on projects with cool themes. You really can’t get any cooler than the seashore and Christmas. She Sells Seashells Stockings. She Sells Seashells Stockings I dug through the fabric remnants I had on hand; antique ticking, vintage damask napkins and a bit of chambray and linen. The stocking pattern that I used was by Simplicity, ... View the Post

When the Tooth Fairy Comes to Visit for the Last Time

A few days ago Sweet Boy had some fairly extensive dental surgery. An oral surgeon removed a total of 5 teeth to prepare him for braces next week. Two of the teeth were so badly impacted that the normally 30 minute procedure took close to two hours. (Yes, mom was a basket case.) But greater pain was in store for me that night. As we prepared for bed Sweet Boy sighed and said I need to prepare for When the Tooth Fairy Comes to Visit for the Last Time. It was true. The surgeon had removed all ... View the Post

Rustic Style versus Cabin Americana

Have you ever found an image that speaks to more than one of your favorite design styles? This picture sums it up beautifully for me. French antique meets rustic elegance with a touch of the seaside. This post will cover Rustic Style versus Cabin Americana. Rustic Style versus Cabin Americana I recently spent a week in a cabin that had me thinking about cabin décor. The plaster walls that I viewed while stone-cold sober had me thinking about what I would consider GOOD cabin ... View the Post

Wayfaring Wednesday

Two weeks ago my family and I took a trip to Vallecito Lake in Colorado. This man made reservoir is 23 miles Northeast of Durango and somehow remains lovely and unspoiled in this day and age. I thought it might be nice to kick off a summer travel series. Wayfaring Wednesday. Wayfaring Wednesday The San Juan National Forest area offers several lovely campground areas. No tv and no phone reception sounded like heaven to Mr. Décor. I am going to let you in on a little secret. I don’t ... View the Post
