I want to start off by saying that in terms of accomplishing any home DIY projects this summer I was a complete and utter failure. The man cave did not get its much needed room makeover because the space was perfect for building forts and hosting sleepovers. The baseboard trim and doors did not get painted because I was too busy reminding my kids to pick up their shoes. The guest bathroom vanity didn’t get a fabulous “AFTER” shot because the “BEFORE” remains along with several bits of ... View the Post
Touring the Rockefeller Home Bassett Hall
Today’s post marks the end of my summer vacation series. I hope you will enjoy Touring the Rockefeller Home Bassett Hall. In almost gleeful anticipation as a mother, it also marks the end of the last week of summer vacation for Sweet Boy. He returns to school on Monday. Yippeeee! While it has been wonderful to focus on my children this summer I am truly itching to return to project mode. Touring the Rockefeller Home Bassett Hall Did you know that if it were not for the generosity and ... View the Post
De Witt Museum and the Summer Gardens & Attire at Colonial Williamsburg
Coming near the end of our trip there was one place I had been looking forward to visiting, the DeWitt Museum at Colonial Williamsburg. When I was last at Colonial Williamsburg I was so busy photographing the holiday wreaths, interiors, and fashions that I ran out of time. I was determined to go there and had heard it was a museum that children would enjoy. My friend Suzi’s Home
My friend Suzi and I met in the early days of interior design school. We were two older moms, Air Force wives, facing down dastardly professors. We were destined to become friends. Suzi is a top notch hostess. One of our best memories is the Seinfeld themed party “Festivus” she and her charming husband Ron held during one holiday season. Oh was that fun! As with all Air Force friends Suzi eventually moved away. But we still emailed and it was great fun letting her know I was coming to ... View the Post
Royal Nurseries and Toys
This will be the final royal themed post of a weeklong series marking the celebratory birth of Prince George of Cambridge. It was, far and away, my favorite post to research and write. Royal Nurseries and Toys His Royal Highness Prince George whom I wish I could smother with cuddly kisses. Royal Nurseries and Toys The first ten years of Prince George’s great grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, life was fairly normal. There was really no thought given to Princess Elizabeth inheriting The ... View the Post
Royal Maternity Style
Today's post is on Royal Maternity Style. Prior to Princess Diana it was not considered in good taste to view members of the Royal family while they were in “a delicate condition”. Indeed no mention was made of the Queen’s condition while she was expecting Princess Anne. The Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, was captured going into a theater in 1961 and the image was almost scandalous. Royal Maternity Style Shortly before the announcement of the Queen’s last pregnancy in 1963 she was ... View the Post
