I love to entertain outdoors. Here are a few ideas for Pretty Picnics for the Labor Day Weekend. Pretty Picnics for the Labor Day Weekend I love the idea of setting a sweet scene in a summer orchard. There is something so charming about enjoying the last warm days of summer outdoors. While many people opt to use a patriotic color palette to decorate for the holiday I love the idea of happy bright colors often found in flowers that are blooming right now. Or even a pure white ... Should You Use Professional Photos For Your Real Estate Listing?
My short answer is “Yes!” Having just come back from a week of house hunting in Texas I can’t tell you the large number of just flat out bad photos that we viewed on prospective real estate listings. Even the home that we eventually put an offer on I have to tell you that initially, based on internet photos, I was not excited about seeing. It was Mr. Décor who said he felt it could be “the one”. Upon viewing the home in person it was a completely different story. Given that the house had sat ... View the Post
Leaving A Home Better Than When You Found It
As I mentioned on Friday Mr. Décor and I spent all last week house hunting in the Fort Worth area. On average we saw between 10 and 15 houses a day. My mind was on house overload I tell you. (I guess I have a fear that I might miss something good. :) Some houses were an immediate “NO” for me. Some houses were an immediate “NO” for the Mister. Thankfully, we have narrowed it down to three houses and I’ll be sharing all three with you very soon. Of course while looking for a new home we ... View the Post
Exposed Brick in Kitchens, Yea or Nay?
As you read this I am on a plane headed back to Arizona. I’ve been in Texas the entire week on a house hunting trip. There is one home that is a definitely a front runner on our short list. This is an image of the actual kitchen in the house we are seriously considering. (Please also notice the wood floors and awesome molding and baseboards. :) ... View the Post
Happy Happy!
Today as I write this post I am feeling so…contented. I had to smile as I wrote those words because life is certainly a bit topsy turvy at the moment given that I will be moving to a new state in just a few weeks, our current home has not been sold and our future home has yet to be found. But there is joy to be found in Happy Happy! I think if I had to choose a cake to represent my day today it would be this one: Happy Happy! Life and how we choose to see it really can be just mind over ... View the Post
When Laughter Fades…
I think a large portion of the population reeled in shock when hearing about Robin Williams this week. I myself can’t really remember my life before Robin Williams. I think I was around the age of 9 when I first saw him on “Happy Days” and then like most of the country I never missed an episode of “Mork and Mindy”. In 5th grade my best friend Tracy received the EXACT rainbow suspenders (complete with pins) for Christmas. Man, was I jealous. He just kept getting better….”Good Morning ... View the Post
