Visiting the Getty Museum had been on my bucket list for many years. I finally realized the dream while recently traveling to California. An extra treat was The Gorgeous Garden at the Getty Museum. The Gorgeous Garden at the Getty Museum The descending path leading to the central garden crosses back and forth over a stream. The walkway also winds through various succulents gardens. I didn’t realize succulents could do so well in partially shaded areas and hope to now plant my own at ... View the Post
Gypsy Caravans, Shepherd Huts and Tin Tabernacles
We have had several weeks of continual thunderstorms in my neck of the woods. It’s a bit frustrating as overcast skies do not make fine friends when trying to shoot design photography. But I don’t want to dwell on the lack of sun. So I thought I would share images from an article I recently found about outdoor garden rooms. Gypsy Caravans, Shepherd Huts, and Tin Tabernacles. The article included traditional greenhouse and conservatory type spaces that England is famous for. But it was a ... View the Post

I rang the doorbell, introduced myself and asked my green-thumbed neighbors if I could take a few pictures and if they could offer me a few great gardening tips. S.R., the resident gardener, was happy ... View the Post
Creating A Secret Garden
Our yard is rather large. Our neighbors have told us, that for the most part, the backyard in our 30+-year-old house had long been neglected. When I think about the amount of work required to transform it I get a bit overwhelmed and then want to do nothing. I’ve found that breaking it down into small sections has helped tremendously. Right now Mr. Decor and I are working on Creating A Secret Garden. Creating A Secret Garden There is a small space behind our shed that is in desperate need ... View the Post
