Something More Sundays Week 1

There can be grace in grief we find in Something More Sundays Week 1. The holidays can be doubly difficult if someone has experienced the recent loss of a loved one. Enough tears can be shed to possibly brine a Thanksgiving turkey. I think most of you know that despite my desperate pleas for prayer I did not make it to my grandmother’s side before she passed away. This could be a prime opportunity for guilt in addition to grief. But I have decided not to invite that notion to live and fester ... View the Post

Simple Abundance

I want to thank everyone who has left me such wonderful comments, tweets, and messages during this difficult time. While I am still currently in Minnesota I felt that it was appropriate to run this post, which was written prior to my Grandmother’s passing, as she was one of the most faithful women I have been blessed to know. Next Sunday as I light my Simple Abundance Advent candle I will think of her.  Simple Abundance Black Friday is coming.   Along with it, there will be mobs of ... View the Post

Pretty Picnics for the Labor Day Weekend

I love to entertain outdoors. Here are a few ideas for Pretty Picnics for the Labor Day Weekend. Pretty Picnics for the Labor Day Weekend I love the idea of setting a sweet scene in a summer orchard. Starfish and Stripes Forever Tablescape

Our living room and dining area are linked together in large open space with only a small pony wall to separate the two. Generally, I try to link common elements in both areas so they flow and the design feels consistent. In planning our 4th of July tablescape I continued with the tropical theme through the use of seashells. Of course, the starfish is the most patriotic of all the shells. Here is the Starfish and Stripes Forever Tablescape and delicious BLUEBERRY SPRITIZERS! Starfish and ... View the Post

Top O’ The Mornin’ To Ya Tablescape

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Are you wearing a wee bit o’ green? Start your day in a lucky way with this Top O’ The Mornin’ To Ya Tablescape. Top O’ The Mornin’ To Ya Tablescape Over the weekend I created a tablescape inspired by the holiday but didn’t feature a single leprechaun or four-leaf clover. This way it can be enjoyed for a week or two instead of just a few days. I began with a tablecloth that I found at an estate sale probably 3 or 4 years ago. The bright and happy embroidery colors ...
