Wedding Wednesday Royal Residences Part I

H.R.H. Prince William is currently based at RAF Valley as a Sea King search and rescue pilot. After his marriage to Catherine in April, they will continue to live in the whitewashed farmhouse he currently rents on the island of Anglesey. They have stated that they are opting to have no servants for optimum privacy. Yet another sign that Prince William will be a thoroughly modern monarch. Wedding Wednesday Royal Residences Part I. Lafayette Cemetery No. 1

Last March I took a trip to New Orleans. A trip to the Big Easy is not complete without a visit to one of their unusual cemeteries. I have been saving these photos as I thought they would be oh so appropriate for a Halloween post. Lafayette Cemetery No. 1. Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 Lafayette Cemetery #1 is located in the Garden District. It was established on a ridge in 1833 on land that was once the plantation home of the Livaudais family.  There are beautiful sections that hold family ... View the Post

A Sweet Blessing

Tomorrow will mark the occasion in which a teeny baby arrived a bit too early into our lives. It is hard to imagine that we will celebrate his 9th birthday. I still picture him as a sweet boy sandwich. A Sweet Blessing. A Sweet Blessing He was christened at the church of St. Michael and All Angels in the village of Pirbright, (Surrey) England,  which is also where Mr. Decor’s Aunt Bette and Uncle David live. A church has stood on these same grounds for over 800 years. There are ... View the Post

A Buggy Ride Through the Amish Countryside

Sweet Boy and I recently visited Lancaster, PA and took A Buggy Ride Through the Amish Countryside with our cousins. A Buggy Ride Through the Amish Countryside Our driver was Mr. Minno, who I adored. He welcomed questions. We had several and were very respectful during our time together. After a while, he became quite comfortable with us and asked several questions of his own. We rode by several farms and even stopped at a few to purchase homemade root beer and cookies. We ... View the Post

The Jersey Shore

The Jersey Shore in Cape May. No, this is NOT a post about Pauly D, Snookie or J Woww. I will however shamefully admit to having viewed an episode (or three) of this indescribable phenomenon and justifying it as research for this trip. Here’s Laurie G. going incognito in her favorite beach hat and juicy sunglasses. Given that it is early in the day and you can already see a slight tone of pink I think there might be another type of  “Situation” occurring. The Chalfonte We began our ... View the Post

The Charms of Cape May

At the very southern tip of New Jersey lies a darling community. I fell in love with The Charms of Cape May. The Charms of Cape May Cape May has been recognized as America’s oldest seaside resort. It has been hosting vacationers since the mid-1700s. Charm abounds in every little nook, cranny and fence post. Cape May is world famous for its beaches and is second only to San Francisco for its fabulous collection of Victorian homes. After a five day fire in 1876 destroyed 30 ... View the Post
