Creating Covered Buttons and Other Delights with Vintage Fabric Scraps Last week as I rearranged my office/sewing area I found myself looking at some wee bits of leftover fabric from the aprons I had recently made. I just couldn’t bear to toss the cheerful scraps into the bin. They are quite easy to make. I myself ... View the Post
The Living Room Challenge- Week 2
Oh this past week just flew by! In addition to the Easter holiday we also celebrated the Fashionista’s birthday and went to Round Top, Texas for 2 1/2 days for the antique fair. That left just 2 days to work on the living room in between taking two tests, writing two papers and trying to keep the family fed. Whew! I did manage to get all the floors waxed. That was a big job that had to be done in sections so we could still maneuver within the house. Once the floors were dry I laid down a ... View the Post

L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue~ A Beautiful French Town Filled With Antiques
We began our day trip to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue fairly early. This is a good idea when attending antique markets so that you can get there before the good stuff is gone. First, a quick trip to Madame Giuseppi’s patisserie (bakery) in Plan d’Orgon to pick up the worlds best sweet bread and espresso to get our motor’s running. This charming town nestled upon the banks of the Sorgue river hosts a traditional food market as well as an antique market almost every Sunday. It is also famous for its ... View the Post
