Greeting friends! Today, I am joining some lovely creatives for the monthly Pinterest Challenge. It is hosted by the fabulous Cindy of County Road 407. Today I am sharing A Sleepy Hollow Tablescape.
If you are coming over from WM Design House, let me welcome you to Storybook Cottage. Wendy’s pumpkin centerpiece is so fabulous!

Sleepy Hallow Tablescape
In thinking about pumpkins and burlap my mind went to the 1999 movie Sleepy Hollow. The character Ichabod Crane (Johnny Depp) wears a burlap apron in his laboratory.

The beauty of the Pinterest Challenge is that the inspiration photo is just that. You can interpret your version of the photo in a wide variety of ways.
I decided to use various elements to create a spooktacular tablescape inspired by The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving.
Ichabod Crane’s tricorne hat rests on a pumpkin placed on a chair.

Who else grew up loving this guy?

The base of the tablescape began with some burlap fabric that was folded into thirds to create a table runner.

A black candle holder was added to the center of the table and surrounded with various pumpkins.
Grapevine chargers are a nod to the pumpkin in the inspiration photo.

Grandma Mary’s glassware is paired with spooktacular napkins stitched up for the Edgar Allen Poe Nevermore tablescape that was shared a few years ago.

The Headless Horseman placecards were made from this vintage inspired printable from La La Land.

The Sideboard
Over on the sideboard the artwork receives a transformation with a Happy Haunting banner.

Various elements inspired by the classic story are gathered together.

I love the cover of my second hand copy of The Legend of Sleepy Hallow by Washington Irving.

At the center pf the grouping is a headless horseman sculpture that I found at the thrift shop. The light doesn’t work but I am ok with that.

Various pumpkins, candles and leaves collected from my yard complete the vignette.

Leaves are featured heavily in the film.

An old box is filled with maps and legends.

I love printables as they are a low cost method of creating ambiance.

I hope you have enjoyed this spooktacular tablescape inspired by the headless horseman of Sleepy Hollow.

Up next on the tour is Thistle Key Lane. You will love Michelle’s centerpiece!
